Tour of Sri Ramanasramam - Photos 37 & 38
The first photograph, taken from the top of the steps next to the animal samadhis, shows the boundary wall of the ashram and the gate through which devotees who want to climb up the mountain have to go. This gate is permanently locked except for a few hours per day. Permission to climb the hill is now required in writing from the Forestry Department.
To the left of the picture, across the bund, are the samadhis of some of the old resident devotees of Bhagavan.
The second photograph shows part of the path to Skandasramam just beyond the gate.
The climb to the caves takes about twenty minutes and is best done in the morning before the sun becomes too hot.
