Tour of Sri Ramanasramam - Photos 23 & 24
This is the other side of the men's guest room which is out of picture to the right of the photographer. The doors visible to the right are some of the ashram staff rooms.
The first building to the immdiate left also contains accommodation for staff. The next building (with the foliage growing from the balcony) is the Vedapatasala, where the young Brahmin boys are educated and live.
The building at the rear of the picture (with the open blue doorway) is the milking parlour.
This photograph shows the inside of the ashram milking parlour.
The ashram has about 150 milking cows which provide the majority of the ashram needs. Only during busy periods such as Jayanti, Aradhana, full-moon and other festivals is it necessary for the ashram to purchase extra milk from outside.
