devotee's evolution
« on: September 18, 2011, 05:39:36 PM »
Dear All,

Nochur Sri Venkatraman in one of his Satsangs says, that there are 3 levels in Bhagavan's devotee's progress/evolution.
1) First, they are attracted to Bhagavan's teaching.
2) Later they are attracted to Bhagavan Himself.
3) Then to what Bhagavan points - Arunachala!!!

Can some one please explain more on this topic?

Dear Ramakrishnan,

Yes. It is true. First we read some book on Sri Bhagavan and then get
attracted. Many Western devotees came to know about Him only
through Paul Brunton's book and Talks.  Then we get attracted to Him.
We visit the Asramam and find immense peace for a few days of stay
there. This peace lasts even after returning home. Then we get attracted
to the Hill, Arunachala [Arunachala and Sri Bhagavan are not different.].
We visit again and again, do giri pradakshina etc.,  Then at home, we
read more and more of Sri Bhagavan's works [on Him and by Him]
and slowly practice self inquiry or self surrender.

Arunachala Siva.
