The magician's Ribbon
« on: September 17, 2009, 11:27:09 AM »
Once a magician came to a school.  He took a long ribbon and made
some five knots and then asked the children in the class, to untie
them.  They could not succeed but in the process, the children had
made another fifteen knots.  The magician took the ribbon and picked
out one knot and pulled it.  All the knots got untied!  This is the
magic, the great magic of Hrudaya Granthi, the Heart Knot. There
is in Heart, as knot that binds the mind with the Self.  If you remove
that knot, the mind is straightened and there is only the Self.

This is the severest problem of the living beings.  How to untie
this knot?  Ask Who am I? and continue till you stop getting any
answer.

Mudi adi kaana mudi viduthu anai ner,
Mudivida kadan ilai Arunachala!

                                - Vese 80. Arunachala Akshara Mana Malai

"Oh Arunachala!  Thou hast cut the knot, which hid the vision
of Thy head and foot, (the limitless Self). Shouldst Thou not
complete Thy task?"

Arunachala Siva.
