Vasanas and pursuit of Self abidance - 10
« on: March 04, 2009, 04:33:20 PM »
The next three verses, Verses 296, 299 and 300 also speak of Siva's grace to become Pure Consciousness, Sivam.

296: Destroy maya, the rebellious mind that unceasingly wallows in the sense objects, of the world, and then, with the malevolent ego dead, the world Vasana gone and yourself wholly consummated as
Sivam, shine as Pure Consciousness.

299: With neither remembering nor forgetting occurring in the mind, come under the sway of grace's surge and cling to the radiant feet
of Siva, the dense mass of Pure Consciousness, the reality that frees you from sorrow.

300: It is impossible for the jiva who has become a victim of ego-delusion to overcome even slightly the force of prarabdha.  Therefore, unless he subsides in the Heart by relying primarily on God's grace, he can never, be mere effort, which is the activity of the rising ego, overcome the buffeting momentum of that prarabdha, subside by himself in the Heart, attain Self realization and be freed from fear-causing delusion.

{ Guru's or Siva's or God's grace alone can help us to overcome the vasanas, and help us in Self-abidance.}

{Saint Manikkavachagar goes one step further and says:  Even to
pray to Your feet, Your grace is essential... Sivapuranam, Tiruvachakam.}
