Tiruvembavai
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:58:26 AM »
I had given English translation of Tiruvembavai, during dhanur month of 2008.  Robert Butler has given English translation of
Tiruvembavai, in Advent, 2006 issue of Mountain Path.  The English versification is excellent.  The last verse, no. 20, is an euology on
Siva's golden feet.  The feet are also the Source, Padam.  Muruganar's Pada Malai, which appears in Sri Ramana Jnana Bodham Volume, 9, is an ecstatic expression on the feet of Bhagavan Ramana.

Verse 20 reads as under:

Praise to Your lotus feet, the First! Grant us Your Grace!
Praise to Your reddy feet, the Last! Grant us Your Grace!
Praise be, the feet of gold, the Source of all that lives!
Praise be the flowery feet, the bliss of all that lives!
Praise be to Your twin feet, of all that lkives the final goal!
Praise be, the lotus flower, to Mal and Brahma both unknown!
Praise to the golden feet that us to grace enslaved, and saved!
Praise be, we say, and bathing go in this month of Magazhi!
El Or Embavai!

(Tamil Verse starts as : PoTRi AruLuga Nin Adhiyam Pada malar...)
