Being attacked by your action which grow you, before your neighbors speak many words, ridiculing you, laughing at your ignorance that you were lying (as a corpse) to be consumed by fire.  People of this world listen to this!

Arunachala Siva.

To the Lord in Chitṟampalam in the big city of Tillai,  to me who became a servant which knows no time limit and from which, I cannot redeem myself what effect can suffering have on me?  What harm can the action from which it is difficult to be freed, do to me?  What harm can the dual, old strong actions do to me?

Arunachala Siva.

As long as life exists in this body, I shall meditate upon my Lord. The Lord of Chitṟampalam where there are bright honey-combs, will place me in heaven to stay there permanently if I wish it.

The esteemed one who resides in Chitṟampalam in Tillai where learned people live and where wise people and celestial beings go and receive their boons.  The god of death will not go.  Near those people of good conduct who go to worship the red feet (of the Lord).  (The learned people here refers to 3000 Brahmins of Chidambaram).

He is one without parallel. He is the matchless light for all the worlds.
He is the pure person. The one who resides in Chitṟampalam in Tillai.
He is the aged elder.  He is the youth, our Lord who has on his half Umā, and drank the poison, will know his devotees (and bestow his grace upon them).

The form of a hot fire which occupied completely the sky, cannot be known by the two, (Brahmaṉ and Vishnu), who pervaded the minds of their devotees.  Having pervaded the Ambalam surrounded by sweet-smelling gardens full of honey the unequaled one who dances there.

Having bent the bow to form a semi circle one who destroyed (in the twinkling of the eye) simultaneously the three circular forts of the demons (the destruction of Tripuram), the actions of people who worship with their hands even the direction in which the surrounding area of Tillai lies, it is quite true that they would flee quickly crossing their limits.

When the feet of the Lord who dances in the Ambalam of Tillai surrounded by mansions having high storeys are in my mind, are these gods, Vishnu and Brahma, who have thought about him in their minds and wandered and searched him to find, capable of seeing him?

The one who has a young maid who speaks sweet and true words, on one side of his form, clever one, one who is in Chitṟampalam, to crush the ten heads of Rāvaṇaṉ who removed the mountain (Kailāsh) and shook it will a roaring noise.  Save yourselves by going on pilgrimage and reaching the red feet which trampled (upon them). (Note: It is a distinguishing feature of Tirunāvukkarasar, to mention the Rāvaṇaṉ anecdote in the last stanza of every Padigam).

Padigam on Koil (Chidrmbaram) completed. (5th Canon of Tiru Navukkarasar).

Koil  (Chidambaram)  2:

Verse 1:

நினைப்ப வர்மனங் கோயிலாக் கொண்டவன்
அனைத்தும் வேடமாம் அம்பலக் கூத்தனைத்
தினைத்த னைப்பொழு தும்மறந் துய்வனோ.

The one who flayed the skin of the elephant having three musts, and a trunk resembling the Palmyra tree, the one who entered into the minds of those who meditate upon him, as a temple, the dancing god in Ambalam who has all things as his form, will I be saved if I forget him even for a single moment?

The pure one, the one who has the name of Siva, the one whose abode is Sivalōkam, the one who has several forms, the unequaled one who is the source for all things.
The dancing god of Chitṟampalam, who granted his grace to Arjuna. (This is a story from Mahabharatam where Arjuna is said to have received a weapon from Siva.)
Will I, who am cruel, be saved if I forget him?

Arunachala Siva.

Being desirous of the serpent which is tied, skull and a young one of a deer held in his hand, one who dances in the burial ground holding fire, the dancing god of Chitṟampalam in Tillai, where people of good conduct live.  Will I be saved if I forget him even for a moment?

As the bachelor Chandeekesa, milked the cows and bathed you with milk and worshiped you my god who is the basis of all things, who granted him all the worlds which are at a great distance, to be ruled by him.  Will I be saved if I, who am lonely, forget the pillar who was standing in the Ambalam, which was covered with red gold?
There are five Ambalams or Sabhas in Chitramparam. The one alluded to here as perhaps refers to the hall in front of Natarāja who is dancing in Chitṟambalam.

Verse 5:

The who has the name of Pittan, mad god, or one who has a mania for his devotees in the first sense all his actions are entirely different from those of the world.  The one who is naturally free from all shakles and bondage, and dances in the burning ground using it as a stage.  The one who adorned on his head, the white crescent moon which is like a white sprout. The one who possesses all the eight powers attained by performing penance, the father who is standing in the Ambalam covered with gold,
will I, his serf, be saved if I forget him?

Arunachala Siva.

Verse 6:

The right conduct, the fullness, one who chanted the four Vedas simultaneously, the effulgent light which could not be known by anyone by his own effort.  Having forgotten the primordial one who is in the brilliant golden Ambalam, will I, who am his serf, be saved.

Arunachala Siva.
