General:

Verse  1:

(This decade was sung by the saint poet, when, the King at the behest of Jain monks,
wanted to throw the saint poet into the sea, with a stone fixed with him.)

The first cause who is the Vedas, which are in the form of words the supreme being, the light divine, who is the world of salvation which knows no destruction. As I worship with joined hands, the heart to hold the feet, and the feet to hold the heart, the feet which are perfect, two in number and as valuable as gold.  Though I was bound to a stone pillar and thrown into the sea, Namasivāya is the companion which will grant salvation.

Arunachala Siva.
