Tiru Arur:

Verse  1:

Siva who has a weapon of a trident, who has beautiful shoulders like the hills on which saffron is smeared, which is like the streams descending down, flowing in all directions who has as a half a lady who speaks soft words which are as sweet as milk.  It is in Ārūr that I obtained vision of the god seated under the beautiful banyan tree.

Arunachala Siva.

Verse 2:

Surrounded on all sides by Bhutas, eating the alms received in the villages he entered in a begging bowl of a dead skull, who is our father who adorned himself with a string of black beads along with a loin-cloth, which was held aloft in the banner, and the feather of a crane which is beautiful.  (see 1st verse.).

Verse  3:

Siva is the highest world above all worlds and the support of all, who can destroy the three impurities of the soul which are metaphorically the three cities.  He who has a garland of Koṉṟai flowers hanging down on the chest,  who is in the midst of female attendants, who witness the festivals in Ārūr, who smear on their soft breasts cool sandal paste and who have shoulders resembling bamboo.

Arunachala Siva.

Verse  4:

Riding on a bull to give it preeminence the eight groups of worshipers to follow Siva, destroying the strong forts of these demons, who were opposed to Siva, having a body smeared with holy ash, and the Brahmin who received a river on his long matted locks for the water to overflow. (see the 1st verse.).

Verse  5:

Adorning himself with the beautiful white bones, riding on a bull which belongs to him,
the supreme god who goes to all villages that are nearby.  Siva stayed without leaving it with his heart full of joy, in the Poon Kovil in the ancient city of Tiruvārūr where the blue Nelumbo flowers with honey spread their fragrance.

Siva who has the right of mastery over Chit, Achit and Chit-achit, (intelligent beings;
non-intelligent beings;  beings endowed with both, who has the beautiful crescent moon as a plate of gold on his forehead. The significance of நும் is not clear. Dressing in a red silk which is like the red sky, and who wore as a beautiful silk-dress, the skin of a young deer.

Verse  7:

Wearing a white crescent moon which is like the segment of a circle, Siva covered himself with the skin of an elephant glittering and appearing grand, when Uma wearing white bangles was frightened at that sight. He who is like the fire that rises at the end of the world, and who is the able god who has a round car to which are yoked tall and neighing horses. (see 1st verse).

The strong youth who is not near to anyone who has deceitfulness, who felt pleasure in dancing the darkness when everything is dead or asleep who was the beautiful light spreading milk light when the minds of his devotees are intensely dark with ignorance.
(see 1st verse.)
