Self enquiry and computer response
« on: January 26, 2017, 11:52:55 AM »
Dear friends,

The July 2010 and October 2010 issues of mountain path carries in 2 parts ,an excellent article on self enquiry by N A Mohan Rao.
One of the important points stressed is concurrent enquiry -i.e enquiry while in the midst of daily activities.
Since our lives have become intimately interwined with computer usage , one of the moments that we can use ,to relax into the feeling of 'I am ' is when we are waiting for  response from the computer / system , after we have given a certain command or clicked some application.
Instead of being irritated when response is slower, those moments could be used for self enquiry - i.e feeling of I am instead of running away with the thought stream which serves no purpose  and can even distract from the task on hand.

This will also help focus on the activity on hand ,since in this age of information overflow, it is also critical that we focus on one task instead of letting our thought stream distract us from the task on hand.

Thanks,

Anand Sundaram.
