All the mountains beginning from Himachala to quake in their position, shooting an arrow on the forts smearing white sacred ash.  Is the state of having on one half Uma to be thought of with appreciation?  In Sāttamaṅgai where Brahmins retain Vedas in their minds, religious works, six Ankams and four Vedas, worship you. Siva who has a fame different from others and is appropriate!  One who dwells in Ayavanti with desire!

Arunachala Siva.

The supreme Yogi who practices on Veena songs which have hepatatonic primary melody-types!  Is it right on your part to desire on your half the daughter of the big mountain which seems to touch the sky!  In Sāttamaṅgai which has gardens in which the white moon which gives cool moonlight seems to crawl, our Lord who remained as an eminent god!  Siva who dwells in Ayavanti with desire.

Is it fitting to be two different form having a lady on one half and destroying the strength of the demon, who had very beautiful shoulders!  Siva who dwelt in the temple, Ayavanti, in Maṅgai, having the form of fire of unbearable heat which could not be seen by Vishnu who has the beauty of the sable cloud, and Brahma who is golden in color.

When the river, Ganga reached the single long matted locks, by the side of your body.
Is the fact of being united with a lady whom you married to be spoken praiseworthy?
In Sāttamaṅgai, which Brahmins well-versed in the Vedas and whose number is countless, worship.  You placed in your palm the skull of Brahma. Siva who dwelt in the temple, Ayavanti, with desire!

Tiruk Kutamukku - Kumbakonam:

Verse 1:

குரவிரி சோலைசூழ்ந்த குழ கன்குட மூக்கிடமா

By the sides of the river, Kāveri, which is made beautiful by the long petals of the white species of Malabar glory lily which has a long stalk and which blossoms like the hood of the cobras, is thriving.  The youth having as his place Kutamūkku which is surrounded by gardens in which from the blossomed flowers honey is flowing, flagrant jasmine, Arabian jasmine, and blossomed flowers, are found. Our Lord the youth, is that place having worn the crescent spreading rays.

The male peacock dances embracing its female the young swans are flock together on the sand, in the verdent garden on the bank of the old Kāveri when the female bees which are in great number hum like melody-types.  Siva has the song of the Indian cuckoo singing with its female, who is in Kuṭamūkku as his place to be praised by the celestial beings in the proper manner, is our master.

The skin of the striped tiger to hang very low in the waist, adorning himself with the hog's tusk, shell of the tortoise, cobra-bead to make Uma fear on seeing these. He
has songs appropriate to the accompaniment of beautiful Koḵḵarai. (Koḵḵarai is a musical instrument.)  Siva who was in Kuṭamūkku to be praised by the inhabitants of all the islands including people of the Sambu Teevu.

Uma who has large eyes like the sword and a beautiful form, to be frightened, flayed an elephant's skin to cover his body smeared with holy ash. He has a ruddy matted locks.  The youth and Siva who was in Kutamūkku which has tall storeys in which flags are flying, as his place, to the praised by the inhabitants of heaven where thunder is produced, is our master.

Siva rejoiced to have as his half the daughter of the mountain. He destroyed the three cities with a cruel arrow which is fixed to the bow, to save the people of this world.
Siva who holds a trident of three blades has as his place Kuṭamūkku where the fruits of the jack tree full of clusters fell to the ground fully ripe.

Siva pressed down the body of the cruel demon Rāvaṇaṉ who had ten high crowns, under the big and great mountain of Kailash to make him suffer undergoing distress.
The one who dwelt as his place in Kuṭamūkku where the coconut trees having curved leaves drop their mature fruits, and which is surrounded by the mound of sand deposited by the Kāveri is our master.

The youth who rose high as a great column of fire which could not be measured by both Vishnu who has a burning discus with many sharp points, and Brahma seated in a lotus flower, having worn on the ruddy matted locks water which overflows, a crescent moon which has not grown to its full seize, Siva who had a loin cloth of flayed skin and has as his place Kuṭamūkku, is our master.

The Buddhists who covers their bodies with a cloth by name, Seevaram, and obstinate Jains are very stupid people. Siva who has good qualities which are praised with desire by the Devas, who were searching for him.  He has possession of all the hills that are available. Adorning himself with Koṉṟai of unfolded petals, Siva who has in Kuṭamūkku as his place, is our master.
