Having a lady whose waist is like a drum, shaped like the hour glass, as a half of his body, rides on a bull whose bellowing is like the thunder. He has a cobra with a hood ,
has a body smeared with fine powder of sacred ash.  He ties in his waist a tiger's skin which is shining.  Chēṟai is the fertile city of the god who has matted locks, coiled into a crown which is like a shrub.

The warrior who shot an arrow to be burnt and destroyed by fire, from the bow of mountain Mantaram with bands in an instant, as the time measure of the snap of the finger, which had cobra as the bow-string and Hari and fire as its tip as its components, the three-cities which were wandering in the sky. He has a neck made beautiful by the poison.  Chēṟai is the fertile city of the god who has the color of fire.

Taking the form of a hunter who had as much strength as the mountain, Mantaram  by the manner in which he defeated Vijayaṉ who had a beautiful body and ten names.
The beautiful and fertile city which is adorned with precious stones which shine in a row, of our god who granted a weapon is Chēṟai which is surrounded by dense gardens.

Siva sang the abstruse Vēdas in the manner of proper accent and order. Performed the rare dance that it indicated the he was the god who performed all the functions.
when the devotees praised him in this world with flowers and other things fit for worship.  The fertile city of the god who rejoices with the alms which is placed in the lifeless skull of the faded Brahma.  It is Chēṟai surrounded by dense gardens.

Siva crushed the ten tall crowns and the body of the hard-hearted Ravanan, who caused distress by his hands to the good mountains, Kailash with his excessive strength, the fertile city of the eminent god who grants his grace to the devotees who fall at his feet which are like flowers which have abundant honey, and rise,

When Vishnu and Brahma took the form of a pig and a swan respectively appropriate to them, to have a vision of Siva, were not able to see the feet and head as they both were opposed to each other, when they were standing on the two sides. Chēṟai is the city of that god who granted his grace to indicate he was the great one in the middle of a tall column of fire which rose.

Buddhists who wear clothes full of dirt as their dress, and those who have naked bodies their mean words which are horrible do not contain any good; therefore do not listen to them devotees! Chēṟai is the fertile city of Siva who has matted locks coiled into a crown on which the ancient river Ganga shines beautifully along with a crescent which is like a bud and a cobra.

On Chēṟai where Siva dwells as his favorite place with Uma of small and beautiful waist, and where the devotees who practice good Vedas, which they learnt in their young days, pay obeisance to him the sufferings of those who recite the words of Jnana Sambandhan, who has no enmity with anyone and who lives in Pukali which is without defect, in the proper manner, will leave them and they will not meet with death.

Padigam on Tiruch Cherai completed.

Tiru Nallaru:

Verse  1:

As the songs are intimately connected with the two beautiful, cool, tender and growing luster of the twin breasts of the daughter of the mountain, whose beauty is like the tender brightness of the growing leaves, and as these contain the names of the god in Nallaru, if they are consigned into the fire which is bright like her body, they will suffer no damage.  It is truth.

நாதம தெழிலுரு வனையநள் ளாறர்தந் நாமமே
மீதம தெரியினி லிடிலிவை பழுதிலை மெய்ம்மையே.

As the songs are connected with the young, beautiful and bud-like breasts of the beautiful daughter of the mountain who has curly tresses of hair in which flowers are inserted, and they contain the names of Siva in Naḷḷaṟu who took the body of beautiful Nāta Tatvam. If they are consigned into fire which is superior and one of the eight forms of Siva, they will suffer no damage; it is truth.

As these verses are connected with the two tender and beautiful breasts which are adorned with elegant strand of increasing luster in which are set rows of precious stones like bunches of flowers, and these contain the names of the god in Naḷḷāṟu, where there are fields in which crops are planted and are close to each other.
if these are consigned into the small fire they will suffer no damage; it is truth.

நச்சணி மிடறுடை யடிகணள் ளாறர்தந் நாமமே

As these verses are connected with the tender, beautiful and bright breasts which were a bodice, which gives knowledge which is not divine wisdom and knowledge of god, of the daughter of the ancient mountain, who has eyes with rows of lives and coated with collyrium, and they contain the names of the god in Naḷḷāṟu who has a neck made beautiful by the poison. If these are consigned into the fire which has wonderful beauty will not suffer any damage; it is truth.

As these songs are connected with the two bright beautiful breasts which are like pots and wear ornaments with big precious stones which emit rays, belonging to the daughter of the mountain and which are well decorated. They contain the names of Siva in Naḷḷāṟu where cool water enters. If these are consigned into the fire which rises high to touch the sky these will not suffer any damage; it is truth.

These songs are closely connected with the tender growing and beautiful breasts which have the color of tender leaves and are like conical pieces in dice-play and wear gold ornaments, of the daughter of the mountain who has curly tresses of hair in which are inserted flowers and these contain the names of Siva in Naḷḷāṟu who has the color of gold. These suffer no damage if these are consigned into the fire which rises high; it is truth.

These songs are closely connected with the breasts which wear ornaments set with famous precious stones, of the daughter of the mountain who has tresses of hair as black as the sable cloud, and wavy and curly and tied into a knot and they contain the names of Siva in Naḷḷāṟu who wears a garland of laughing skulls. If these are consigned into the rising fire they will not suffer any damage; it is truth.
