Verse  9:


விண்பயில மண்பகிரி வண்பிரம னெண்பெரிய பண்படைகொண்மால்
கண்பரியு மொண்பொழிய நுண்பொருள்கள் தண்புகழ்கொள் கண்டனிடமாம்
மண்பரியு மொண்பொழிய நுண்புசகர் புண்பயில விண்படரவச்
சண்பைமொழி பண்பமுனி கண்பழிசெய் பண்புகளை சண்பைநகரே.

The munificent Brahma to fly in the sky, Vishnu who has a discus kept ready for use and who is held in great esteem, by digging the earth. To give up their effort of seeing his head and feet, the place of Kaṇtaṉ who has a fame pleasant to hear and who is in the form of very minute things which cannot be seen with the ordinary eyes, as the valor of ruling the world has left them the mean Yātavar to die by beating one another to go to heaven the good-natured sages, As the Lord removed the curse which attached a great blemish to them is the city of Saṇbai.

பாழியுறை வேழநிகர் பாழமணர் சூழுமுட லாளருணரா
ஏழினிசை யாழின்மொழி யேழையவள் வாழுமிறை தாழுமிடமாங்
கீழிசைகொண் மேலுலகில் வாழரசு சூழரசு வாழவரனுக்
காழியசில் காழிசெய வேழுலகி லூழிவளர் காழிநகரே.

the King ruling throughout the lower world earth to live peacefully free from the harassment of Kāli.  Kaḻi who wore a few strands of Mekalai, who was defeated in dancing as she worshipped to the free from the faults she committed, the act of her received grace from god is current since many aeons in all the seven worlds is the city of Sirkazhi. Unknown to those who cover their bodies Buddhists and the wretched Jains who are like the elephants that stay in the caves, is the place where the god on whose form the lady who speaks words as sweet as the music produced in Yāzh which has seven notes.

நச்சரவு கச்செனவ சைச்சுமதி யுச்சியின்மி லைச்சொருகையான்
மெய்ச்சிர மணைச்சுலகி னிச்சமிடு பிச்சையமர் பிச்சனிடமாம்
மச்சமத நச்சிமத மச்சிறுமி யைச்செய்தவ வச்சவிரதக்
கொச்சைமுர வச்சர்பணி யச்சுரர்க ணச்சிமிடை கொச்சைநகரே.


When Parasara Muni cried aloud out of fear for the stench that attached to his body which he got as a result of having given up his austerities which became useless when he desired intercourse with the girl of the fisherman caste desiring the stench of fish, worshipped god.  The city of Kochai where the Devas crowd together on seeing that, and desiring that place, having lied the poisonous cobra as a girdle round the waist, having worn on the crown a crescent moon holding in one hand a skull separated from the body of Brahma. It is the place of madman Siva who desires the alms which is given daily.

Verse  12:

ஒழுகலரி தழிகலியி லுழியுலகு பழிபெருகு வழியைநினையா
முழுதுடலி லெழுமயிர்க டழுவுமுனி குழுவினொடு கெழுவுசிவனைத்
தொழுதுலகி லிழுகுமல மழியும்வகை கழுவுமுரை கழுமலநகர்ப்
பழுதிலிறை யெழுதுமொழி தமிழ்விரகன் வழிமொழிகண் மொழிதகையவே.


Thinking of the way when sin increases and it is difficult to lead a life in the righteous path.  The sage Rōmasar whose whole body was covered with hairs, worshipped Siva who was staying there, along with the group of sages. The decade by name Vaḻimozhikai which was composed in the written Vedas by Jnaṉa Sambandhan, proficient in Tamizh on the Lord who is without blemish, in Kazhumalam, in the world to wash the impurities of the soul which make one commit mistakes out of desire for material objects, and therefore got the name of the city of Kazhumalam, are definitely worthy of being sung written Vēdas, the Tēvāram hymns are called Tamizh Veda,

Verse 1:

வாளவரி கோளபுலி கீளதுரி தாளின்மிசை நாளுமகிழ்வர்
ஆளுமவர் வேளநகர் போளயில கோளகளி றாளிவரவில்
தோளமரர் தாளமதர் கூளியெழ மீளிமிளிர் தூளிவளர்பொன்
காளமுகின் மூளுமிருள் கீளவிரி தாளகயி லாயமலையே.

Siva rejoices always as the skin of the tiger which has bright stripes and is capable of killing, touches his feet. He who admits people as his protege is without sin and is cherished with love by all.  He who subdued the elephant which is capable of killing and which can split the opposing beasts with its tusks, is the god who carries on his shoulders a superior bow. He is the chief who dances to the measure of time kept by the proud ghosts. He smears himself with shining sacred ash.  To rend the darkness caused by the sable clouds, is his Kayilāyamalai which emits rays of silver in its foot portion.

புற்றரவு பற்றியகை நெற்றியது மற்றொருக ணொற்றைவிடையன்
செற்றதெயி லுற்றதுமை யற்றவர்க ணற்றுணைவ னுற்றநகர்தான்
சுற்றுமணி பெற்றதொளி செற்றமொடு குற்றமில தெற்றெனவினாய்க்
கற்றவர்கள் சொற்றொகையின் முற்றுமொளி பெற்றகயி லாயமலையே.


Siva`s hand is holding a cobra that lives in the anthill.  The other eye is on the forehead. He has a single bull.  He destroyed the forts.  Uma is united in his body without separation.  He is the good companion of those who have given up all attachments.  The place where such a great god dwells.  Questioning how this mountain is without fault though it has destroyed the brightness of the gems found all round. The Kayilāyamalai is the place which has the praise sung by learned people, and surrounded the world by its brilliance.

சிங்கவரை மங்கையர்க டங்களன செங்கைநிறை கொங்குமலர் தூய்
எங்கள் வினை சங்கையவை யிங்ககல வங்கமொழி யெங்குமுளவாய்த்
திங்களிரு ணொங்கவொளி விங்கிமிளிர் தொங்கலொடு தங்கவயலே
கங்கையொடு பொங்குசடை யெங்களிறை தங்குகயி லாயமலையே.

Celestial damsels who have a small waist like the waist of the lion, scatter fragrant flowers which they have in full in their red hands.  The words are heard everywhere which are a part of their prayer.  Let our acts and doubts leave us as the crescent moon swallows the darkness. To stay with the shining garland as its brightness increases, the Kayilāyamalai is the place where our Lord who has a bright matted locks which expands having on its side Gaṅga. (The lion's waist is compared to the women's waist .)

முடியசடை பிடியதொரு வடியமழு வுடையர்செடி யுடையதலையில்
வெடியவினை கொடியர்கெட விடுசில்பலி நொடியமகி ழடிகளிடமாம்
கொடியகுர லுடையவிடை கடியதுடி யடியினொடு மிடியினதிரக்
கடியகுர னெடியமுகின் மடியவத ரடிகொள்கயி லாயமலையே.



Siva has matted locks on his head, a sharp battle-axe which can be held in the fist,
the wicked people, demons, who do detestable acts, to perish. The place of the god who feels joy in speaking a few words for the sake of placing a small quantity of alms in the skull issuing stench, when the bull having harsh bellowing sound to roar like thunder along with the calves of elephants of quick gait.  It is the Kayilayamalai where as the thunder of the long clouds is drowned, goes on its way at the foot of the hill.

குடங்கையி னுடங்கெரி தொடர்ந்தெழ விடங்கிளர் படங்கொளரவம்
மடங்கொளி படர்ந்திட நடந்தரு விடங்கன திடந்தண் முகில்போய்த்
தடங்கட றொடர்ந்துட னுடங்குவ விடங்கொளமி டைந்தகுரலால்
கடுங்கலின் முடங்களை நுடங்கர வொடுங்குகயி லாயமலையே.


The fire held in the palm rises and shines in a wavy manner without extinguishing,
the light of the cobras which have hoods and increasing poison makes the other lights diminish by their brilliance. The cool clouds going to the big ocean and drawing water from it dance on the mountains. By the noise of the thunder which occupies all places.
in the rugged boulders. The Kayilāyamalai is the place where the curved cobras lie concealing themselves for safety, that cobras are afraid of the harsh sound of the thunder, of the clouds - is a literary conventions.

ஏதமில பூதமொடு கோதைதுணை யாதிமுதல் வேதவிகிர்தன்
கீதமொடு நீதிபல வோதிமற வாதுபயி னாதனகர்தான்
தாதுபொதி போதுவிட வூதுசிறை மீதுதுளி கூதனலியக்
காதன்மிகு சோதிகிளர் மாதுபயில் கோதுகயி லாயமலையே.


The Bhutas which have no faults. The one who is spoken in the Vedas as different from the world, who revealed songs and many moral conducts, is the place where the master always stays without forgetting.  Though the chillness caused by the drops of honey on the wings of the bees which hum to unfold the petals which contain within them pollen, distresses them, is the Kayilāyamalai where cuckoos of beauty which love to stay in those gardens, and which have brilliance, pick the flowers found there.

சென்றுபல வென்றுலவு புன்றலையர் துன்றலொடு மொன்றியுடனே
நின்றமர ரென்றுமிறை வன்றனடி சென்றுபணி கின்றநகர்தான்
துன்றுமலர் பொன்றிகழ்செய் கொன்றைவிரை தென்றலொடு சென்றுகமழக்
கன்றுபிடி துன்றுகளி றென்றிவைமுன் னின்றகயி லாயமலையே.


Standing entirely having joined the group of Bhutas which have a murky hairs and which wander having gained victory in battles waged in the enemies land, the city where the immortals bow before the feet of Siva always, the fragrance of the Koṉṟai flowers which glitter like gold and blossom in bunches, goes along with the southern balmy breeze and spreads, is the Kayilāyamalai where the calf, female and the male elephant and other beasts stands in the front portion of the mountain.

மருப்பிடை நெருப்பெழு தருக்கொடு செருச்செய்த பருத்தகளிறின்
பொருப்பிடை விருப்புற விருக்கையை யொருக்குட னரக்கனுணரா
தொருத்தியை வெருக்குற வெருட்டலு நெருக்கென நிருத்தவிரலால்
கருத்தில வொருத்தனை யெருத்திற நெரித்தகயி லாயமலையே.


Like the big elephant which fought with pride so that sparks of fire flew from the tusks, the demon without regarding that it is the seat of Siva in the mountain, as soon as he frightened the unequalled Uma to be seized with fear, the Kayilāyamalai is the place of Siva who crushed to break the neck of that demon who had no sense, by the toe which practices dances to produce the sound Nerukku Nerukkeṉa.

பரியதிரை யெரியபுனல் வரியபுலி யுரியதுடை பரிசையுடையான்
வரியவளை யரியகணி யுருவினொடு புரிவினவர் பிரிவினகர்தான்
பெரியவெரி யுருவமது தெரியவுரு பரிவுதரு மருமையதனால்
கரியவனு மரியமறை புரியவனு மருவுகயி லாயமலையே.


Siva has the nature of a dress of the skin of a tiger which has stripes, and water with big waves from which fire is produced, the city which Siva who is attached to the form of a lady who wears bangles with lines and eyes with lines in the white portion, and never leaves her, is the Kayilayamalai where the black Vishnu and Brahma who learnt the abstruse Vedas, began to search for the form of a big fire, approach often, as that form had the rare nature of causing only suffering, to forgive them.

அண்டர்தொழு சண்டி பணி கண்டடிமை கொண்டவிறை துண்டமதியோ
டிண்டைபுனை வுண்டசடை முண்டதர சண்டவிருள் கண்டரிடமாம்
குண்டமண வண்டரவர் மண்டைகையி லுண்டுளறி மிண்டுசமயம்
கண்டவர்கள் கொண்டவர்கள் பண்டுமறி யாதகயி லாயமலையே.


The Lord who admitted Chandikeswara, seeing his services, who had the greatness of being worshipped by the celestial beings, as his protege the place of the god who has thick darkness in his neck, who holds a skull, and has matted locks, which he adorns with a crescent moon and a bunch of flowers.  The wicked Jains who are low in character, eating the food holding an earthern a vessel resembling the skull, clamoring without sense, is the Kayilāyamalai which was unknown from very early times, to those two who founded a vain religion and embraced it.

Verse  11:

அந்தண்வரை வந்தபுன றந்ததிரை சந்தனமொ டுந்தியகிலும்
கந்தமலர் கொந்தினொடு மந்திபல சிந்துகயி லாயமலைமேல்
எந்தையடி வந்தணுகு சந்தமொடு செந்தமிழி சைந்தபுகலிப்
பந்தனுரை சிந்தைசெய வந்தவினை நைந்துபர லோகமெளிதே.


Pushing eagle-wood also with the sandal-wood which was brought in the waves which descended from the beautiful and cool mountain, on Kayilāyamalai where many female monkeys scatter fragrant bushes of flowers.  The superior world is easy of attainment if one meditates on the verses done by Sambandhan of Pukali which is associated with refined Tamizh, having rhythmic movement, reaching the feet of our father, as the acts which approached us to inflict sufferings become dwindled.
