Verse  7:


தூயவன் தூயவெண் ணீறு மேனிமேல்
பாயவன் பாயபைஞ் ஞீலி கோயிலா
மேயவன் வேய்புரை தோளி பாகமா
ஏயவ னெனைச்செயுந் தன்மை யென்கொலோ.

Siva is pure, who spread on his body pure white sacred ash who is in extensive Painjneeli, as his temple. He who is united with a lady whose shoulders are like bamboos, as a half. How wonderful is his nature of transforming me, a human being, into Siva!

தொத்தின தோள்முடி யுடைய வன்றலை
பத்தினை நெரித்தபைஞ் ஞீலி மேவலான்
முத்தினை முறுவல்செய் தாளொர் பாகமாப்
பொத்தினன் திருந்தடி பொருந்தி வாழ்மினே.

Siva who is in Painjneeli, and who crushed the ten heads of the one who had a bunch of shoulders and crowns, Ravanan.  People of this world! Lead your life approaching the flawless feet of Siva, who embraced the lady who has pearls as her teeth on one half.

Verse  9:

நீருடைப் போதுறை வானு மாலுமாய்ச்
சீருடைக் கழலடி சென்னி காண்கிலர்
பாருடைக் கடவுள்பைஞ் ஞீலி மேவிய
தாருடைக் கொன்றையந் தலைவர் தன்மையே.

Brahma, who dwells in the flower which grows in water, and Vishnu could not find out the head, and feet wearing armor. The first two lines are எதிர் நிரல் நிறை i.e., reversed sequence.  A syntactical arrangement of a series of predicates in an order which is the reverse of that in which their respective nominatives stand the god who has the world as his possession these are the nature of the master who wears a garland of Koṉṟai and who is in Painjneeli.

பீலியார் பெருமையும் பிடகர் நூன்மையும்
சாலியா தவர்களைச் சாதி யாததோர்
கோலியா வருவரை கூட்டி யெய்தபைஞ்
ஞீலியான் கழலடி நினைந்து வாழ்மினே.

The greatness of Jains who have a collection of peacock's feathers, the subject-matter of the Buddhist's Tripiṭakam.  As the Buddhists follows the three Pitakams, they are called Pitakar.  People of this world!  Spend your lives remembering the feet wearing armor of the god in Painjneeli,  who shot an arrow bending a mountain difficult to be lent and which could not be achieved by those two who achieved nothing.

Verse  11:

கண்புனல் விளைவயற் காழிக் கற்பகம்
நண்புண ரருமறை ஞான சம்பந்தன்
பண்பினர் பரவுபைஞ் ஞீலி பாடுவார்
உண்பின வுலகினி லோங்கி வாழ்வரே.

Jnana Sambandhan, who knows the abstruse Vedas, and has intimacy with Siva who can be compared to the divine tree, Kaṟpakam, born in Sirkazhi which has fields yielding paddy and which has water everywhere. He who sings the fame of Painjneeli, with his verses, which is praised by goodnatured people will live prosperously in this world which is the place for enjoying the fruits of action done in previous births

Padigam on Tirup Painjneeli completed.

Verse  1:


மந்திர மறையவை வான வரொடும்
இந்திரன் வழிபட நின்ற எம்மிறை
வெந்தவெண் ணீற்றர்வெண் காடு மேவிய
அந்தமு முதலுடை யடிக ளல்லரே.


Our Lord who was worshipped by Indiraṉ along with the inhabitants of heaven and many Vedas, which contain mantrams the Lord who smears himself with well-burnt white ash, is he not the deity who is in Veṇkāadu and who is the end and beginning of all things?

படையுடை மழுவினர் பாய்புலித் தோலின்
உடைவிரி கோவண முகந்த கொள்கையர்
விடையுடைக் கொடியர்வெண் காடு மேவிய
சடையிடைப் புனல்வைத்த சதுர ரல்லரே.

The Lord has a battle-axe as his weapon. He is pleased to wear a broad loin cloth upon the pouncing tiger's skin has a banner, on which a bull is written. Is He not an able person who is in Veṇkaadu and placed the water of the Ganga, in his matted locks of hair? (Water has the nature of flowing downwards; God controlled it and arrested it from flowing down. So he is called an able person.

பாலொடு நெய்தயிர் பலவு மாடுவர்
தோலொடு நூலிழை துதைந்த மார்பினர்
மேலவர் பரவுவெண் காடு மேவிய
ஆலம தமர்ந்தவெம் மடிக ளல்லரே.

The god will bathe in milk, ghee, curd and many other things. He has on his chest a skin and sacred thread close to each other. Is he not the deity who is veṇkaadu praised by great persons, who sits under the banyan tree.

ஞாழலுஞ் செருந்தியு நறுமலர்ப் புன்னையுந்
தாழைவெண் குருகயல் தயங்கு கானலில்
வேழம துரித்தவெண் காடு மேவிய
யாழின திசையுடை யிறைவ ரல்லரே.

In the sea-shore garden where gnzhal (Feted cassia), Koṉṟai flower whose stamens resemble tiger's claws, Charunti, the fragrant flowers of Puṉṉai - mast-wood tree are shining by the side of the flowers of fragrant screw-pine which look like white cranes the Lord who flayed the elephant. He is in Veṇkaadu. Is he not the Lord who hears the music of Yaazh?

பூதங்கள் பலவுடைப் புனிதர் புண்ணியர்
ஏதங்கள் பலவிடர் தீர்க்கு மெம்மிறை
வேதங்கண் முதல்வர்வெண் காடு மேவிய
பாதங்கள் தொழநின்ற பரம ரல்லரே.


The holy person who has demons as his army, the embodiment of all virtuous acts,
our Lord who removes blemishes and many sufferings of devotees is the eminent person spoken by the Vedas. He the origin of the Vedas. The supreme being who is in Veṇkaadu, is he not the supreme being whose feet are worshipped by devotees?

மண்ணவர் விண்ணவர் வணங்க வைகலும்
எண்ணிய தேவர்கள் இறைஞ்சும் எம்மிறை
விண்ணமர் பொழில்கொள்வெண் காடு மேவிய
அண்ணலை அடிதொழ அல்லல் இல்லையே.

When the people of this earth and residents of heaven worship him, our supreme god who is worshipped by other Devas for their own benefit, daily. There will be no distress if one worships the feet of the eminent god who is Veṇkaādu which has gardens so high as to touch the sky.

நயந்தவர்க் கருள்பல நல்கி யிந்திரன்
கயந்திரம் வழிபடநின்ற கண்ணுதல்
வியந்தவர் பரவுவெண் காடுமேவிய
பயந்தரு மழுவுடைப் பரம ரல்லரே.


Having bestowed grace in many ways on loving devotees, the god who has an eye on the forehead and who was worshipped by Indra and the eminent elephant Airāvatam, the supreme god in Veṇkāadu which is praised by devotees who are admired by other people. Is he not the supreme god who has a battle-axe that strikes fear?

மலையுட னெடுத்தவல் லரக்கன் நீள்முடி
தலையுட னெரித்தருள் செய்த சங்கரர்
விலையுடை நீற்றர்வெண் காடு மேவிய
அலையுடைப் புனல்வைத்த அடிகள் அல்லரே.

The god who has the name of Sankara who bestowed his grace after crushing the ten heads of demoṉ, Raavaṇaṉ, together with their crowns, who immediately lifted the mountain. (Ravaṇaṉ lifted mount Kailash as soon as his plane, Pushpakam, could not fly over it.) He has sacred ash which has a high price. The deity who is in Veṇkadu,
is he not the deity who bore on his head the water having waves?

ஏடவிழ் நறுமலர் அயனு மாலுமாய்த்
தேடவுந் தெரிந்தவர் தேர கிற்கிலார்
வேடம துடையவெண் காடு மேவிய
ஆடலை யமர்ந்தஎம் அடிகள் அல்லரே.


Vishnu and Brahma, who is seated in the fragrant lotus flower of opened petals, joining together, though both had the power of perception and searched for his head and feet, were not capable of finding them. The deity who has several forms, is he not our god who was glad to dance?

நீதிகள் சொல்லியும் நினைய கிற்கிலார்
வேதியர் பரவுவெண் காடு மேவிய
ஆதியை யடிதொழ அல்லல் இல்லையே.


The Buddhists and Jains who have no propriety, though they are told about the greatness of Saivam and other moral codes they are not able to ponder over them.
There will no suffering if one worships feet of the supreme being who is Veṇkaādu where the people well-versed in Vēdas, praise him.
