Verse  19:

He flayed a tusker and was mantled in its hide He is the Lord of Perunturai.
In His form of a mad man,
He became an infant too.
He,
The munificent One of Uttharakosamangkai,
Is indeed the sole cause and source of Moksha.
Let us sing how He indwells our inner sensorium and gather blossoms from lianas.

Arunachala Siva.

Verse  20:

Riding majestically a charger,
He entered the city of Madurai.
He,
of Perunturai,
in His comely and godly form,
made His advent as a Monarch.
We will hail His flower-bedecked and ankleted Feet that,
in grace,
ply us in ministration,
And gather blossoms from lianas.

(concluded)

Arunachala Siva.

Tiru Undiyar:

Undi is a game played by girls by standing on the tip of the toes, in two groups and one group
praising Siva and the other group supporting it.

This describes the victory of Jnana.

Sri Bhagavan's Upadesa Undiyar is on this style.

Verse  1:

Bent was the bow;
the rumpus broke out;
The citadels three perished.
Fly Unti !
They were burnt simultaneously.
Fly Unti !

Arunachala Siva.

Verse  2:

Two arrows we beheld not in Ekampar's hand.
For the three citadels,
one would do.
Fly Unti !
Even one was too many*.
Fly Unti !

(* Even that one arrow was more because Siva smiled at Tripura and destroyed it.)

Arunachala Siva.

Verse 3:

When the chariot was ready He placed His foot on it.
The axle broke !
Fly Unti !
Yet perished were the citadels.
Fly Unti !

Verse 4:

He saved the three who merited survival,
His greatness.
Yet,
He was valiant to smite.
Fly Unti !
With the heaving of your young breasts,
fly Unti!

Verse 5:

When assailed the sacrifice collapsed and the Devas fled away;
of such fleeing sing and fly Unti !
To please Lord-Rudra,
fly Unti !

Alas,
Vishnu consumed havis and barely survived.*
Say so and fly Unti !
Say he is the father of the four-faced and fly Unti !

(*Vishnu survived because, He had earlier done puja to Siva, by giving one of His eyes when the
thousand lotuses were short by one.)

His hand was severed.
So say and fly Unti !
