The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Navukkarasar, on
Siva, in the temple of Tiru MaaRperu. This is in 5.059 of Saiva Canon.
The location of the temple, the names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy tirtham --
all these details have been given in the first Padigam on Tiru MaaRpeRu see this serial post elsewhere.
When Vishnu fought with Dadisi Rishi, His disc became blunt. He found that the disc is with Siva,
with which He killed Jalandhara. Hence, Vishnu prayed to Siva, with a thousand lotus flowers.
When one lotus was short to complete the Puja, He placed His eye in lieu of the lotus. Siva became
happy and blessed Him with a disc again.

In the manner of fighting with enemies, requiring a weapon, all the acts, good and bad, will become
weak. If one worships beautiful Tiru MaRpeRu, of Siva, who granted a weapon to the black Vishnu,
when He worshipped Siva with flowers and brilliant water which flowed in the river.
Arunachala Siva.
