The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva
in the temple of Tiru Maanthurai. This is in 2.110 of Saiva Canon.
The temple is in Tiruchy district in Lalgudi taluk. One can go by bus from Tiruchy or Lalgudi. Or get
down at the Lalgudi railway station and go by bus or autorickshaw.
Siva - Ambravaneswarar.
Uma - Azhagamma.
Holy tree - Mango tree.
Holy tirtham - Ganapathy canal.
செம்பொ னார்தரு வேங்கையும் ஞாழலுஞ் செருந்திசெண் பகமானைக்
கொம்பும் ஆரமும் மாதவி சுரபுனை குருந்தலர் பரந்துந்தி
அம்பொன் நேர்வரு காவிரி வடகரை மாந்துறை யுறைகின்ற
எம்பி ரானிமை யோர்தொழு பைங்கழ லேத்துதல் செய்வோமே.
Pushing the flowers of wild-lime trees, long-leaved two-sepaled gamboge, common delight of the woods,
sandal-wood, tusks of elephants, Champaka flowers, golden-blossomed Pear-tree, fetid cassia, and east-
Indian Kino-tree which has flowers like gold, our master who dwells in Manthurai, on the northern bank of the
Kaveri river, which brings with it gold. We shall praise the feet wearing armor of gold which are worshipped
with joined hands by the celestial who do not wink
