For all those who live happily in the wealthy places, without any idea of God, you know that this is the
place for ruin.  Those who will ruin yourselves, if you believe this life, which is transient as permanent approach the feet of Siva in Kattuppalli, before life goes out of its abode which is not permanent.

took his sword, to kill Siva.  Siva removed the sword and gave him, the Ruby. He thanked

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tlru Navukkarasar, on
Siva, in the temple of Tirumanan Cheri.  This is in 5.087 Saiva Canon.

This temple is in  Mayiladuthurai taluk, Nagappattinam district.  One can reach the temple from
Mayiladuthurai.

Siva - AruL VaNNa Nathar.

Uma - Yazhinum Men Mozhi Ammai, the one who speaks words sweeter than Yazjh, a violin
like instrument.

Siva wears a plate of gold on the forehead daily, dances standing people of this world!
Praise the nature of the Lord who has tied his long matted locks into the form of a circle, in Tiru Manam
Cheri, which has abundant wealth and where people of good conduct live.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung  by Tiru Navukkarasar, on Siva,
in the temple of Tiru Marugal.  This is in 5.088 of Saiva Canon.

The temple is in Nannilam taluk, Tiruvarur district.  One can go by bus from Nannilam or from
Tiruvarur.

Siva - ManikkavaNNar.

Uma - VaNduvar Kuzhali, the one with long locks of hair where bees would swarm (due to fragrance).

Holy Tree- Plaintain, this is called Kal Vazhai, in Tamil.

Holy tirtham - Manikka tirtham, a tank.

There is a story of one Chettiar boy eloping with a girl (the youngest, whom the girl's father had promised
the boy to be married to her.  Since father in law had been delaying, the girl and the boy moved away
from the town, without any one's knowledge. They took rest and slept in a dark looking choultry and
the boy got stung by a serpent.  Since the girl could not even touch the boy, as she was not married to him
at that time, and so she cried for help.

Tiru Jnana Sambandhar came that way with his followers and he found the girl crying for the death
of the boy, whom she had not even married. The saint poet sang a decade and the serpent came
to the boy and removed the poison by sucking at the hole through which the poison was sent earlier.
The boy got back his life and he and the girl thanked the saint poet.

One can increase one`s penance, ignorance will vanish, one can rectify the crookedness of the mind.
One can enjoy the supreme happiness, if one praises, and pays obeisance, to the feet of Siva in Tiru Marugal.

Arunachala Siva.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Navukkarasar, on Siva,
as a general decade, and not particularly on any temple.  This is in 5.089 of Saiva Canon.

The verses are in the order of words one, two, three etc., I propose to give all the ten verses
in this serial post.

Holding one white skull, the unequalled Siva,  who dwells permanently united in our mind. He has one
chaplet of white crescent moon.  He dresses along with Uma, in a loin-cloth and a strip of cloth used as a waist-band.

Verse 2 of Padigam 5.089:-

Siva's functions are two, they are bondage of souls and granting salvation.  His beauty is of two kinds;
one being Siva, and the other being Sakti.  He has two young ladies like deer, as His wives;
one is Uma and the other is Ganga. He dwells in my mind both when I think of Him or forget Him.

Verse 3 of Padigam,  5.089:

Siva's three functions abiding in the trinity of Brahma, Hari, and Rudran -- are creation, protection and destruction. He has a trident of three blades.  He has three eyes. He is worshipped by maintaining the
three kinds of fire.  He will be abiding in my mind during morning, noon and evening.

Verse 4 of Padigam 5.089.

Siva pinched with His nails one head which was superfluous above the four heads of Brahma.
He explained to be understood the four objectives worthy of human pursuit sitting under the permanent
shade of the banyan tree.  He chanted the four Vedas, which show the way to eternal bliss.
The Master who dwells in my mind has given the four paths, namely Chariyai, Kriyai,  Yōgam and
Jnanam.

five hoods. He is the ultimate reality numbering twenty - they are the five elements, the rudiments of the five elements, the organs of sense which are gateways of knowledge and five organs of motor actions.
the first cause of all things who dwells in my mind is also the five sense perceptions.

I meditate on Him.

Siva remains having eight visible forms.   Siva is called as our Lord, the Lord of the universe and who performs functions, having great eight attributes. Our Lord abides in the deities of the eight forms.
They dwell within me. Those eight forms of Siva dwell, concealed in me.

He is many things such as ten and hundred.  The God has a white bull which has cruel eyes.
His many strands of matted locks,  which fall on His shoulders are thousand in number. As we do
possess the ten qualities of devotees, Siva can be caught in the net of devotion.
As He knows that I have no knowledge that my mind is His resting place.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Navukkarasar, on Siva,
as a general composition not particularly in any temple.   This is in 5.090 of Saiva Canon.

I propose to give all the ten verses in this serial post.

Verse 1 :

The shelter afforded by the twin feet of our Father, the Lord of the universe, is like the music produced
in a flawless Veena;  the moon that rises in the evening the balmy southern breeze that blows gently.
the increasing milder part of the hot season the months of Chitrai and Vaikasi - and the coolness of the
natural tank in which the swarming bees hum with a great noise on flowers.
