The following verse and the Padigam has been composed by Tiru Navukkarasar, on Siva, in
the temple of Tirumaraikkaadu, Vedaranyam.  This is in 5.009 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, the names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy tirtham --
all these details have been given in the first Padigam on Tirumaraikkaadu, Vedaranyam --
see elsewhere in this serial post.

பாத மேத்தப் பறையுநம் பாவமே.

the Lord in Tirumaraikkaadu, Vedaranyam,  around which goodnatured ladies who live in the whole
world, which is surrounded by the extensive ocean of waves, go from left to right.  Our sins will vanish
if we worship the feet of the Lord who is meditated upon with love.  (This is used in the sense of raving in the nominative of address and this applies to all the following verses.)

O Lord who has Uma,  whose words are as sweet as music, on one half of His form.  O Lord in Tirumaraikkaadu,  around which people of this world go from left to right!  Kindly open the doors with certainty to have a vision of You with my eyes.

(The Vedas worshipped Siva, in Tirumaraikkaadu,  and closed the doors in front of the temple turned
towards Him. People made a side entrance and went into the temple and worshipped God.

When Jnana Sambandhar and Tiru Navukkarasar,   were there the devotees requested then to open
the door closed by the Vedas, Tiru Nāvukkaracar sang the verses of this Padigam,  to open the doors
and Jnana Sambandhar  sang to close them.  After that people entered into the temple by the direct
entrance and worshipped the Lord.)

Siva loves those who worship Him with folded hands, their hearts melting denying his existence,
he does not cause the heterodox religionists who wake up from sleep abusing Him, to grieve.
He goes hurriedly daily along with the Bhutas, which accompany Him in rows, to Tiru Veezhi Mizhalai,
to grant His grace to His devotees.

Siva in Tirup PEreyil chants the Vedas,  holds in His hand a young deer.  He holds in His hands a skull,

and wears a crescent moon.

in the temple of Tiruk Kudamookku, Kumbakonam.  This is in 5.022 of Saiva Canon.

This temple is in Kumbakonam taluk, Thanjavur district.  One can go to Kumbakonam from any
important town in Tamizh Nadu.

There are three temples in Kumbakonam.  One is called Tiruk Kudamookku,  the second is called
Kudanthai Keezh Kottam and the third is called Tiruk Kudanthai KaRONam.

காவ ணத்துடை யானடி யார்களை
தீவ ணத்திரு நீறுமெய் பூசியோர்

Siva is the beauty of a flower.  He is the embodiment of all virtues.  He admits by a bond as slaves,
the devotees by voluntarily going to them.  Smearing holy ash on His body which is red like fire,
He is Kudamookku, which is the shrine of Siva, who has a single loin-cloth as His dress.
