The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temple of Tiru Aval-ival nallur.  This is in 3.082 of Saiva Canon.

This temple is in Kumbakonam taluk, Thanjavur district.  One can go by bus from Kumbakonam or Thanjavur,
to reach this temple.

Siva - Thamparisu Udaiyar, (one who knows the real thing)* Sakshi Nathar. (One who is the witness for things.)

Uma - Soundarya Nayaki.

Holy tree - Padhiri tree.

Holy tirtham - Chandra Pushkarani.

*
Once a person had two daughters, who were twins.  He married off the first daughter to a gentleman.  That gentleman
went to Kasi for pilgrimage. Meantime the first daughter was afflicted by smallpox and lost her eye sight and also
became dark in color with marks.  The second daughter was okay with fine looking complexion.  The gentleman
returned from Kasi, and seeing the second daughter claimed that she was his wife.  The father did not know what to do.
He prayed to Siva.  The Lord appeared before them and showed that gentleman that the first daughter was his wife.
Aval = That lady; ival = is this lady. Hence the place came to be called as Aval-ival nallur.

The flowers of koṉṟai which the bees cause to leave their branches, come back again and surround them to shine
along with the sacred thread of three strands.   Smearing Himself with the sacred ash well-burnt, as an indication
of His nature, riding on a bull,  Avaḷival nallur, is the place where the god, Siva, who discharged an arrow to set fire
to the three forts which had tall storeys and were made of superior gold, silver and iron and which had high
workmanship.

When the matted locks, on which there are plenty of flowers that opened their petals to cause the bees to flee away,
hangs low, riding on a bull, Siva is here. People say that the city of the supreme God who held in His hand a fire
from time immemorial.  By its side,  to make the crab to flee from the crane which searches its prey, is Tiru Nallur,
where the buds in an advanced stage unfold their petals when the clear waves of the streams of the Kaveri,  which
rises as mountain dash the pearls on the buds.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar, on Siva,
in the temple of Tiru Veezhimizhalai.  This is in 3.085 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, the names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy tirtham -- all these details

Having the proper form of Uma who has a waist which wears a silk cloth and has a brilliant girdle set with

are filled,  Veezhimizhalai,  is the place of Siva on whose head the shining water is arrested along with a fearful
cobra that dwells there, has a crescent moon, which sheds its rays intermittently.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temple of Tiruch Cherai.  This is in 3.086 of Saiva Canon.

This temple is in Kumbakonam  taluk, Thanjavur district. One can go by bus from Kumbakonam or
Thanjavur. This place is nowadays called Udaiyar Kovil.

Siva - Sen Neri Appar.

Uma - Jnana Valli.

Holy tree - Mavilankai tree.

Holy tirtham - Markandeya tirtham.

முறியுறு நிறமல்கு முகிழ்முலை மலைமகள் வெருவமுன்

The daughter of the mountain, Himvan's daughter, Hemavathi, who has breasts like lotus buds and a complexion flourishing like the tender leaves, was frightened in the distant past. Siva had the strength to flay a savage elephant
full of must to peel the skin. His Cherai,  is the fertile city of the God on whose matted locks,. coiled into a crown,
the flowers of fragrant konrai flowers, the river Ganga, and the laughing skull are crowded.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temple of Tiru NaLLaaRu.  This is in 3.087 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, the names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy tirtham -- all these details
have been given in the first Padigam of Tiru NaLLaaRu, see elsewhere in this serial post.

Here, a special mention that is made is, while the other Padigam on Tiru NaLLaaRu, 'Bhogam, aartha pooN
mulaiyaaL..' was placed on the fire and the palm leaf, came back fresh and tendee without burning. This
was when the child saint had debate with Jains.  Here, this Padigam was sung where the child saint shows
his assured faith that that palm leaf would not be burnt.

As the songs are intimately connected with the two beautiful, cool, tender and growing lustre of the twin breasts of
the daughter* of the mountain, whose beauty is like the tender brightness of the growing leaves, and as these contain
the names of the God in NaLLaaRu, if they are consigned into the fire which is bright like her body, they will suffer no damage. It is truth.

*The child saint refers here the palm leaf containing the verse, 'Bhogam aartha pooN mulaiyaaL...'

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temple of Tiru ViLamar. This is in 3.088 of Saiva Canon.

The temple is in Tiruvarur taluk, Tiruvarur district. One can go by bus from Tiruvarur.

Siva - Patanchali Moha Nathar. one who graced Sage Patanchali.

Uma - Yaazhinum men mozhi ammai, one who speaks like Yazh (a violin like instrument.).

Holy tree - Bhilvs tree.

Holy tirtham - Agni tirtham.

Here Siva graced Sage Patanchali who did tapas.

Siva has a forehead as beautiful as the crescent that shines, adding beauty in His head.
He has a cobra which has glittering gems being appropriate to His hand and make those have vision of Him feel joy.
The temple where the skillful husband of Uma dwells, with eyes that have compassion on devotees who worship His
feet according to rules,  is ViLamar, the fertile city which has extensive gardens.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temple of Tiruk Kocchaivayam, another name for Sirkazhi.  This is in 3.089 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, the names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree and the holy tirtham -- all these details

My mind! Pushing out sandal-wood, heaps of precious stones along with the young tusks of big elephant of perfect
growth, and carrying wild lime tree, big bottle flower trees, conessi bark trees and tails of peacocks, and being in
an order, you live in Kocchaivayam, praising the perfect feet of the God who willingly stays in that temple,
surrounded by the river, Kaveri of high banks, which enters into the fields. They are our refuge.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temples of Tiruth Thuruthi and Tiru VELvikkudi.  This is in 3.090 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temples, the names of Siva and Uma, the holy trees, the holy tirthams -- all these
details have been given in the first Padigam on Tiruth Thuruthi and Tiru VELvikkudi, see this serial
post elsewhere in this serial post.

Siva bore Ganga which is in the form of sounding water and which rose and moved to and fro, on one of His matted
hairs. The Lord who received the alms offered, using the skull as the bowl, by turns.
He stays in Turuthi which is surrounded by excessive water and by verdant gardens, during daytime as His place.
He will stay during night in VElvikkudi. (The idea contained in the last line is repeated in the succeeding verses.)

There is also one Then Kurangaadu Thurai, that is the temple in  South.  This is in 3.091 of Saiva Canon.

The temple is in Papanasam taluk, Thanjavur district. One can go from Thanjavur or Papanasam or

The common caungs, bottles flower trees, mast-wood trees of fertile flowers, Vokuṭi Mullai, east Indian Kino trees,
fetid cassia trees, big trumpet-flowered trees combining together the God who has copious water on His matted

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva,
in the temple of Tirunelveli. This is in 3.092 of Saiva Canon.

This is in Tirunelveli town on the south of Madurai. One can go by bus from Madurai or by train
that goes to the town, from Chennai or Madurai.

Siva - Nellaiappar, VENu Nathar. (VENu means bamboo).

Uma - Kanthimathi ammai.

Holy tree - Bamboo tree.

Holy tirtham - Tambravarni river.

When a brahmin was keeping paddy in and when the floods came, Siva formed a fence to protect the paddy.
Fence is VEli.

Siva is called VENu Nathar, because Siva appeared as Lingam from a bamboo forest.

This is one of the five Sabhas (Halls) of Siva.  This is called Tambra (copper) Sabha.

My good mind! Siva`s name which is Panchaksharam is like medicine. It is the right path to the next world
and it is all other things. Sufferings that cannot be removed by other means will perish. Meditate upon His names only.
He is in the cool forest in which all things are found. konrai trees shed flowers like gold. The Lord who dwells in
Tirunelveli,  the dense flourishing and beautiful panicled golden blossomed pear tree unfolds flowers like gold.
(See also the verse on Chaaikkaadu by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar, verse 9.

Siva has a bull that lives in this world. He has the skin of a tiger that springs upon its prey destroys all sins.
He has a big body on which holy ash is smeared. He has an army of Bhutas. He wears a sacred thread on His
chest and has feet on which the devotees place big and fragrant flowers. Ambar Maakaalam is the place where
