The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva
in the temple of Tiru Mukkeswaram.  This is in 2.120 of Saiva Canon.

The temple is near Tiruchirapalli.  One can go by bus from Tiuchirapalli and reach Uraiyoor which is the
present name for Mukkeeswaram.

This is the birth place of Pugazh Chozha Nayanar.  Siva appeared in five different colors during the day.
Hence the name of Pancha (five) Varna (color) Iswarar. Udhanga Rishi could see the five colors of Siva Lingam.
The Chozha King - Veera Adityan found a cock fighting with an elephant and defeated it.  He therefore understood
the greatness of the place, called it Kozhiyur (Kozhi = Cock or hen)  and kept the place as his capital and ruled the kingdom.

Siva - Pancha varnEswarar.

Uma - Kanthimathi Ammai.

Holy tree - Vilvam tree.

Holy tirtham - Siva tirtham.

Besmearing the white sacred ash like sandal-wood paste Siva who kept the floods of the Ganga on the matted locks,
the reason for dancing along with the lady whose fingers are like the petals of the red variety of Malabar glory
and lily, He pervades everywhere which can be known only by intuitive knowledge who is capable of knowing
the true purpose of the actions done by the god in Mukkeeswaram which was built by a king.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar on Siva
in the temple of Tirup Padhirip Puliyur.  This is in 2.121 of Saiva Canon.

This is in Cuddalore. Tirup Padhirip Puliyur is the ancient name of Cuddalore. One can go to Cuddalore
New Town and reach the temple,. Buses are there from all district head quarters of Tamizh Nadu.

A Rishi by name Mananga Rishi was cursed to have the legs of a hare. He came here and prayed to Siva
and got the curse removed.

Tiru Navukkarasar was tied with a thick stone and dropped in the ocean here by the orders of the king
under the advice of Jainas. He sang the famous Namasivaya Padigam and came ashore without any hindrance.

Sage Vyagra Padha who had the legs of a tiger came and prayed to Siva and got His grace. Hence the
name puliyur, puli = tiger.

Siva - ThOnRath thunai Nathar.

Uma - Periya Nayaki.

Holy tree - Padhiri tree.

Holy tirtham - Kedila river.

முன்னம்நின்ற முடக்கால் முயற்கருள் செய்துநீள்

தன்னைநின்று வணங்குந் தனைத்தவ மில்லிகள்

Siva,  who is in Padhirii Puliyur, where the tall mast-wood tree spreads its fragrance without ceasing, having bestowed
His grace to a hare with a crippled leg which remained there, long ago. [A sage by name Manganar was cursed to become
a hare with crippled leg and he was freed from that curse in this shrine.] Those who have not so much of good fortune
as to worship Siva in this shrine, will obtain a body with all diseases which never leave them, in the next birth.
