The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of Tiru Chirapuram, nowadays called
Tiruchirapalli. This is in Saiva Canon 1.109.

The temple location, names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy waters
have all been covered under a different Padigam, on the same temple elsewhere.

with cool paddy fertile fields.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of Tirumarperu. It is in 1.114 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree  and the holy waters
have all been given under another Padigam on the same temple elsewhere.

He is in tender stem, the plant young, the flower, the vegetable coming out of it,
and the fruit -- all is He. He is the male, and the female. He is the medicine -
the consort of the lady with broad, flower like but dark eyes. He stays in the
temple of Tirumarperu.

If you take the first word 'kurunthu' i.e. kurunthai tree, then it means the
Guru who was sitting under kurunthai tree, Siva, for Manikkavachagar.

Arunachala Siva.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed to request to Siva,
to cure the high fever (which had been afflicting the entire townspeople, as an epidemic)) of the people of Tiruk kodi madach chengunrur*, and when this was observed by Tiru Jnana Sambandhar during his visit to the town.  It is in 1.116 of Saiva Canon.

* Tiruchengode.

We are the devotees of Siva, and have grown gardens, and dug tanks and
have matured spiritually. He is the One who burnt Tripura, and let us pray to
Him by placing flowers on His flower like feet.  No miseries from our past
karmas will touch us. This is a swear in the name of Tiru Neelakantam!

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of Sirkazhi. This is in 1.117 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree and the
holy waters have been given under the first Padigam on Sirkazhi elsewhere.

This Padigam is called 'mozhi matru' i.e 'change of word'.  It is a Padigam
in which the last word indicating the name of Sirkazhi has been changed
giving different names of Sirkazhi.  The ten verses are indicating 10 different
names of Sirkazhi.

He is the brahmin, living in Venupuram, (one of ten different names of Sirkazhi),
surrounded by large walls (for the temple), and He has bracelets of serpents on
His hands, and on His matted locks, the crescent moon and Ganga .  He has burnt Tripura.  He has held brahma-kapalam, skull of Brahma, as His begging bowl.
He has kicked and driven away Yama, god of death, for the sake of the boy Markandeya.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva of the temple of Tiru Indraneelap Paruppatham. This in 1.118
of Saiva Canon.

'Paruppatham' in Tamizh means 'a large mountain.'  In the verses, it is also
mentioned as 'indra neelap parppatham'  - 'a large blue mountain prayed to
by Indra.' While some consider this to mean Mallikarjunam / Srisailam in
Andhra Pradesh, others presume this to mean Hardwar or even Himalayas
as seen from Hardwar.

We take the former version. It is in Andhra Prasesh  State. One can go from
Chennai to Nandyal and from there up to Atmakur. From there by bus.
Nowadays there are long distance buses from Chennai, directly to Sri Sailam.

There is one Kotiswara Rao, who is an exponent of Siva literature in Sanskrit
and Telugu. He is from Sri Sailam. He gives absorbing discourses in Telugu
in some Telugu TV channels. I used to listen to them.

Siva - Parvatha Nayakar / Mallikarjuneswarar.

Uma - Parvtha Nayaki /Tiru Neela Nayaki.

Holy Waters - Parvatha Tirtham.

He is having as His codpiece the fierce serpent that emits gem. He is not
having elephant with bells on both its sides, as His vehicle but the bull.
He  has ruby like mark of poison on His throat.  Let us pray to Him who is
in the tall mountains, with shining lights called Paruppatham.

Arunachala Siva.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of Tiruk kaLLil.  The Padigam is in 1.119
of Saiva Canon.

Tiruk KaLLil is in Tiruvallur district, near Thandamangalam.  One can reach the
place from Tiruvallur or from Chennai by bus.

Siva - Sivanandeswarar.

Uma - Ananda Valli Ammai.

Holy Tree - kaLLi tree - a type of cactus.

Holy Waters - Nandi tirtham.

He is a great singer; He is a great dancer.  He adorns serpents on His body.
Without the begging bowl, He has no vessels to eat with. His dwelling place
is only the cremation ground. He is residing in KaLLil.  The elders praise Him
with great stotras.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of TiruvaiyaRu. It comes in 1.120 of Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree and the holy
tirtham have already been covered in the first Padigam on TiruvaiyaRu elsewhere
in this serial post.

The Padigam consists of verses in Tiruviragam meter, i.e the first word in each
line is of the same phonetic nature.

He will snap the two karma effects of the devotees and grace them as they
pray and submit to Him. He wears skin (tiger's skin) as His waist cloth and
He wears sacred thread also.  He has serpents and the shell of tortoise on His
form. He stays here in the fertile TiruvaiyaRu.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of Tiruvidaimaruthur.  It comes in 1.121 of
Saiva Canon.

The location of the temple, names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy tirtham
-- all these have been given in the first Padigam of Tiruvidaimaruthur elsewhere
in this serial post.

This Padigam also consists  of verses in Tiruviragam meter i.e the first
word of each line has got same phonetic nature.

He is rare for experience for those who are not devoted to Him.  He is easy
for experience for those devoted to Him. He has got fire like poison of hala
hala in His throat. He has black matted hairs that are shining and having
fragrant smell.  He is of great glory, but He is simple. He is with His consort
Uma on His form and thus One and Two. He is in this temple of Idaimaruthu.

The following verse and the Padigam has been composed and sung by Tiru Jnana
Sambandhar on Siva in the temple of Tiruvidaimaruthur.  It is in 1.122 of Saiva
Canon.

The location of the temple, names of Siva and Uma, the holy tree, the holy tirtham
--- all the have been given in the first Padigam on Tiruvidaimarutur, elsewhere
in this serial post.

This Padigam also has been composed in Tiruviragam meter i.e the first word

He is having matted locks with the sounds of the river water. He has Uma, the daughter of Himavan on His form. He speaks the purport of Vedas, the sublime
words. He receives with relish the alms given by people.  He lives in Idaimaruthur
where the devotees who pray and go round the temple, will have no karmic
