Punarvasu VaNNam - 08.04.2014
« on: April 08, 2014, 09:24:50 AM »
Today is the punarvasu star day of the month of Panguni (Phalgun). Punarasu is the birth star of Sri Bhagavan.  He was born
on punarvasu star day of the month of Margazhi (Dhanus.).  Today is also the birth day of Sri Rama. He was born on the punarvasu
star day in the month of Panguni (sometimes it falls on the month of Chitra).

Bhagavan is also called Purushottama, a name that is usually associated with Sri Rama.

On this day, apart from celebrating Sri Rama Navami, the Asramam also does special pujas for Sri Ramaneswara Mahalingam.
A golden casket is adorned on the Lingam and special pujas take place.

Let us pray to Sri Rama and Sri Bhagavan, specially on this day.

Dear DrSundaram,

Having born in Punarvasu star (but in different months) both will fall on the same day.  While Sri Rama was born in
Chitra (or sometimes Panguni - it is celebrated), Sri Bhagavan was born in the month of Margazhi (Dhanur).  Since
in Margazhi again, punarvasu star in which Bhagavan was born, the horoscopes of Sri Rama and Sri Bhagavan have
the same planets (almost) placed in different zodiacs. While Sri Rama was householder, Sri Bhagavan was an ati-
varnasrami.  The details of Sri Rama's horoscope have been given in Kamba Ramayanam. The details of Sri
Bhagavan's horoscope have been given in Sri Ramana Vijayam of Suddhanada Bharati (Tamizh)
