Atmavichar/Friends,
We are indebted to vanathi Sri Tirunavukkarasu for publishing the 7 volume compilation of Mahaswami's teachings. This is a real treasure in that it covers all aspects of Sanatana Dharma in a comprehensive way.We also are deeply indebted to Sri rA ganapathy who also passed away in 2012 for compiling this work, truly a Herculean Effort.
There was some initiative taken to bring out pdf version of the volumes but looks like it has had a chequered outcome and the work is still unfinished. In its unfinished state it is available here:https://dheivathinkural.wordpress.com/

Am unfortunate incident happened yesterday in Thiruvanamalai when 4 people died while taking holy bath in the Ayyankulam Tank and one of them happened to be Prof.Manikandan , an Ashram Priest , Volunteer and a great Devi Upasaka and the following is a piece from Ramana Ashram FB Post .

Mahodaya Punyakala Ayyankulam pond dipping event turned tragic claiming at least four lives. Ashram reports with great sadness the loss of the life of one of its most valuable priest-volunteers Prof. Manikandan of SKP Engineering college, Tiruvannamalai. The attached Navaratri decorations and Sri Vidya havan worship speak for themselves for the greatness of this great Devi Upasaka.
Between 6:30 AM and 6:40 AM there was some commotion as devotees were standing on the steps of the Ayyankulam tank. Some twenty people slipped and fell in the Pond. Many of them were rescued but some were caught in the sludge below the water and lost their lives. We pray to Sri Ramana Maharshi to grant peace to his relatives and friends in this difficult time.

Aksharamana malai verse 2
அழகு சுந்தரம் போல் அகமும் நீயும் முற்று
அபின்னமாய் இருப்போம் அருணாசலா,
May Thou and I be one and inseparable like Alagu and Sundara, O Arunachala!

पाठयेम संस्कृतं जगति सर्वमानवान् !
प्रापयेम भारतं सपदि परमवैभवम् !!

Reviving a language,
rejuvenating a culture,
rebuilding a nation that is Bharat!

An appeal to one and all to become part of samskrit language rejuvination. India truly will become literate when its people become knowledgeable of this great language. Thankfully there are many organisations in all places that promote and conduct classes. There is no age bar for learning. Sanskrit can be easily learnt. Samskrita Bharati is one such wonderful organisation. Please spread the word to one and all. Spread the world of Sanskrit. Encourage yourself first to attend the classes and encourage others and especially youngsters to learn Sanskrit. Appeal to all parents yo encourage their children to learn this language.

This is truly a great yajna we can render to the great Rishis of our country. We derive Adhyatma from various sources but it is not enough. It is akin to not taking care of ones own parents. We are only interested in the cream but it is our duty to care for our parents. Its our duty to take forward our heritage - our Mother Samskritam. It is our duty!

Speak Samskrit

SamskritaBharati conducts 10-day Spoken Samskrita classes. This is a great way to become familiar with the language. Thereafter one may take it further. Joining ? Samskrita Through Correspondence?

One can also learn Samskrit through Gita. Please visit website for more details.

There are several other organisations as well.

Please become Samskrit Literate and encourage others!

MOVIE

Friends, I warmly recommend you to watch Inside Out an animation movie.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley's mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

This is so true to each one of us. It is a wonderful new insight on how we view our various emotions.

All of us have various brain functions that govern our response to various situations. The functions responsible for Happiness, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust are characterized and the details of the activities they do to run the life of a young Girl Riley right from her birth is what drives the story. When a sudden change in the life or Riley upsets their rhythm, they try to control the situation too much, which creates more confusion for Riley. Their adventures in an attempt to restore normalcy is what forms the crux of this movie.

Thanks Ravi for posting the Auditor Gurumurthy's interview on Thanthi TV here .If any links , articles to that event is available we can share it for the benefit of others .
One thing powerful that came out of the interview was Gurumorrthy's statement "No one has the Guts to stop this Vivekananda Rath Yatra either legally or Politically as the man in question is Swami Vivekananda who belongs to the entire world and not just to the Hindus "

Sri TKV Desikachar( 1938-2016)  , founder of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram ( KYM)  passed away today ( 8 Aug 2016 ) in Chennai .One of my main inspirations to be on the path of Yoga was Sri TKV Desikachar's book "Heart of Yoga " .Though I was not part of the KYM Organization and all my Yoga learning was through the Sivananda Organization yet I learnt a lot from Sri TKV Desikachar's books and talks and I still read them to refine my knowledge and practice in the Science of Yoga . The world has missed a great Yoga Teacher in Sri TKV Desikchar and the loss is not just to his family or the KYM Institution but to the whole Yoga Community world over . Will later write a separate post on what I learnt from Sri TKV Desikchar .
