Sri Kunju Swami's livelihood
« on: September 24, 2013, 07:39:36 PM »
Dear Subramaniam sir and other devotees,

I read like Sri Kunju Swami came to Bhagavan and stayed permanently.

I know in his old days in the 1980s he was staying in Ashram accommodation and Ramasramam helped in his food and medicines fully.

But in between, during Bhagavan's lifetime (and may be later also)  did he stay in Palakothu independently? If yes,  how did he manage for his food and clothing?

Can anybody please elaborate on how he was survived materially during his intense stay and sadhana around Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi?

Dear Krishnan,

When his work as attendant to Bhagavan was over with youngsters coming in place, he stayed Palakottu.  But he was,
I believe was eating only in Asramam. Ramarishna Swami, his friend's father was sending Rs 10 every month and Rs 5
was left for Kunju Swami by his friend.  Perhaps he gave that Rs 5 to the Asramam for his food expenses.  In his old years,
he moved to inside the Asramam and V. Ganesan was meeting his medicine expenses.  He merged with Arunachala without
any serious illness that might have caused his hospitalization.

Arunachala Siva.
