Dear Sri Balaji,

I am not much sure about the background of this ashtakam. Perhaps there may be some mention in the 8 volumes Arunachala's Ramana, Boundless Ocean of grace. Let me see if i can get some information, Bhagavan willing if i happen to trace some thing from these books.
