Today is the 133rd Jayanti of Sri Bhagavan. This avatara of Skanda took birth on 30/31, December,  1880, in
Tiruchuzhi. The midwife who was blind, could see a sudden flash of light and she exclaimed "Oh, this is an avatara, Oh this
is an avatara!"

There seemed nothing strange about Sundaram Ayyar's own family. Venkataraman grew up a normal, healthy boy. He was
sent awhile to the local school and then, when he was eleven, to a school in Dindigul. After Sundaram Ayyar's passing away,
the family was broken up. Nagaswami  and Venkataraman were sent to their  paternal uncle's  house in Madurai.

There in that house, on 10th July 1896, (as per Gayatri Vasudev's astrological calculations), he had the death experience
(Sri V, Ganesan would prefer to call it as Selfhood experience.) and then arrived at Tiruvannamalai on 1st September 1896.
He did not leave Tiruannamalai till He shed His mortal coil in April 1950.

In my several visits to Asramam, I could be there on Jayanti day only once. There will be detailed abhshekam, alankaram
and arti from 10 am to 11.15 am. On that day, everyone who comes to the Asramam  will be served with food, whether they
are inmates and visitors in the guest house or outsiders. I was there on 01.01.2010 which was a Jayanti Day.

Sri Ramanarpanamastu.

Arunachala Siva.
