Poems from Mountain Path - October - December 2015:

A Sonnet for Muruganar:

Upahar:

One day He shone upon you from within,
bypassed the space-time of mere understanding,
conferring on you in a simple glance
the pilgrimage of endless inner worlds.
Your heritage of high most noble speech
flowered anew in un-imagined radiance;
the sweet, grave, ancient syllables of praise
pouring like jewels before His boundless throne.

Heart, enter new these open gates of worship;
who would stand dumb and thoughtful at this threshold?
Though every voice, out of the shining silence,
one Poem speaks itself as who we are.
Knowing is always loving, loving knowing.
One Being sings itself as what we are.

A Poem from Mountain Path - October - December 2015:

Discontent:

D. Samarender Reddy.

Not a pebble on the sea swept shore
Is out of place;
Not a star in the deep blue yonder
Is out of place;
But we are not content.
Perhaps our discontent, too,
Is not out of place.

The following is the only verse from Mountain Path, April - June 2016:

MOUNTAIN PATH, A SONG AT FIRST LIGHT  - By Upahar:

Clouds are drifting on the hill side,
trees are singing in a morning breeze,
and you are listening to the river,
moving as the river of boundless peace.
Silence opens like a flower,
a cup of rainbows overflows within,
and you are leaning to the presence,
kneeling in the presence of the one you are.

Wandering in this realm so fair,
trust the way to lead you where it is going;
white bird sails without a care,
she trusts the wind to take her where it is blowing.

Beloved dancer in the halls of the dawn,
all being held now in your first wild light,
shining in your vision, waking to your rhythm,
all creation sways.
O, lovers of the ancient pathways,
born into beauty in the fields of grace,
I will meet you in His footsteps,
I will greet you before time begins.  I will meet you Here.

Though skies may turn and thoughts must flow,
day spin again its insubstantial story,
yet love to love will laugh and bow;
sing, here to here and now to now, the Glory.

A verse from Mountain Path, January-March 2017:

Breathless:

Ana Ramana:

The sense of me seems to rise
on each hill of breath.
The space between each inhale and out
is pure peace.
Thoughts follow like blindfolded birds
once there is breathing.
They flitter and frolic wildly until feelings
arise, vast histories,
images of past and future,
but their wings are tied.
They can go nowhere
but down into the abyss if small i.
With practice, in time,
the breath slows to a whisper
and pure presence thrives
in radiance of joy, and the sweet peach
of silence.
Some call it I-I
but it feels nameless, timeless,
me a mere phantom
as the heart soars and glides in vast galaxies
silent yet singing - of Truth, of no one,
of pure, supreme Being.

Poem from Mountain Path, Jan - Mar. 2017:

Darshan:

By Upahar.

She kept a steady watch by night and day,
packing the ancient walls in constant hope;
searching the lost horizons of His advent
through the sweet and dolorous seasons of the heart.
the memory of His countenance her prayer
and secret fire, spiraling within.
She listened deep into the breathing void.

All came undone; time out of mind, she saw
her foot steps flowing back with sudden joy
into the inmost chamber of the presence,
already hers; and all creation laughed.
A great lover bowed her down, and looking up,
she lost all bearings in His endless eyes.
