Sri Ramana Sannidhi Murai:
« on: December 03, 2012, 06:49:51 PM »
A few songs from Sri Ramana Sannidhi Murai have been translated into English by Prof. Swaminathan.

Adaikkala Pathu: Decad of Refuge:

This is modeled on Manikkavachagar's decad on the same title.

280.

At all times have your servants prospered
Beneath the heaven of your gracious glance.
O Venkata, now this wretched sinner
Bearing on earth this body's burden
Falls trembling, helpless at your Feet,
Seeking shelter, refuge and sanctuary!

281.

Your devotees have found release
From the ego's false bewilderments,
But, Venkata, this wretched sinner
Even in the bright light of your glance
Swerves from high service and he seeks,
O Master, at your Feet, he seeks
Shelter, refuge, sanctuary!

Dear Jewell,

It is a beautiful collection of songs by Muruganar.  The Tamizh version is sweeter. I am not sure whether any website is
available for the Tamixh version.

Dear Sri Subramanian sir,

I am aware that it is always better to read something which is writen in genuine matter, and language. Something is always lost in translation. I tried to translate some Serbian songs, but it is almost impossible. It looks fuuny, and true thouch is lost.

But,i am satisfied with versions of these Tamizh songs in English. Poems You post in thread Divine poetry are Beautiful, and i found some site which is easy to navigate.

Dear Jewell,

I am giving here the English rendering of two verses under ANda Pathu, Decad of Sovereignty, as done by Prof. K. Swaminathan.

571.

He quelled my pride of 'I' and 'mine'
Revealed to me the incomparable state
Of bliss transcendent, blotted out
For me the multitudinous worlds
That even Brahma and other Gods behold,
Such, such is Ramana!
Each day I fails to sing his praise
Is for me a day of death.

573.

Base, despicable wretch, a prey to
Every lust, me, even me, he would not
as a rabid dog abandon. Nay, he pitied
Me, took me up and lifted me above the
Mighty Masters purified by years of penance,
Such, such is Ramana the Inner Being!
Each day I fail to bow before His golden feet
Is for me a day lost, forlorn.
