aisI vANi bOliyE, man kA ApA khOy
auran kO shItal karE, Apahu shIetal hOy

Speak in words so sweet, that fill the heart with joy
Like a cool breeze in summer, for others and self to enjoy

Remain quietly in the Self.

shram sE hi sab kuC hOt hai, bin shram milE kuC nahI
sIdhE unglI ghI jamO, kabsU nikasE nahI

Efforts can accomplish everything. Nothing can be
accomplished without taking efforts. A purified butter
that is frozen cannot be taken out with a straight finger

what is the use of this body or wealth? even as one keeps looking, they fling mud on the eyes (meaning deceive and disappear right in front of the eyes)

a man builds a home all for himself, and then goes to rest in the forest (is buried / cremated) (meaning that no amount of luxury is going to be an insurance against anything. Death is the great leveller which snatches away all the material comforts that one   has accumulated in his lifetime)

the bones burn like pearls, the hair burns like blades of grass, says kabir, hear oh hear, in a batting of an eyelid the world  vanishes without a trace / sinks

(the poem means that the world with all its luxuries and comforts is ephemeral and transitory. it is a song of non attachment, of vairagya and dispassion, sung with the brutal honesty that is so typical of kabir's poetry)

dhayA BhAv hRuday nahI jnyAn ThakE bEhad
thE nar narak hI jAemgE sUnI sAKhI shabd

One who has no mercy or compassion in his heart,
even the  knowledge  he has, becomes useless
He will surely go to hell, as he only speaks
the words that come from a dry, barren heart.

Where do you search me?
I am with you
Not in pilgrimage, nor in icons
Neither in solitudes
Not in temples, nor in mosques
Neither in Kaba nor in Kailash
I am with you O man
I am with you
Not in prayers, nor in meditation
Neither in fasting
Not in yogic exercises
Neither in renunciation
Neither in the vital force nor in the body
Not even in the ethereal space
Neither in the womb of Nature
Not in the breath of the breath
Seek earnestly and discover
In but a moment of search
Says Kabir, Listen with care
Where your faith is, I am there.

man mathurA dhil dvArikA, kAyA kAshi jAnI
dhaswan dhvAra dhehuhu, thAmE jOthi picCAni

Mind is mathurA, heart is dhvArika, know my body to be kAshI
Through the tenth door of my body, I have perceived the Divine Light.

Bura Jo Dekhan Main Chala, Bura Naa Milya Koye
Jo Munn Khoja Apnaa, To Mujhse Bura Naa Koye

I searched for the crooked, met not a single one
When searched myself, was none as crooked as ā€œIā€
