yoga of eating
« on: October 18, 2012, 06:27:28 PM »
A man was telling Bhagavan that he learnt one type of yoga under one master, some other type under a different master and so on.  The dinner bell started ringing."Now learn the yoga of eating under this master", said Bhagavan and took the man to have his dinner.(from Boundless Ocean of Grace).

Dear Balaji,

Dhandapani Swami (father in law of Muruganar) was a stout and hefty man, with a huge belly. Sri Bhagavan used
to say: Give Dhandapani a lot of food, he needs it!

Sri Balaji, Subramanian Sir,

Having read about Dandapani Swami, i remembered how Bhagavan used to specially ask to serve for a strong coffee for smt MInakshiammAl, Muruganar's wife, as she was a coffee lover.

Can you pl share exact volume and page number please where this anecdote was mentioned.

Did really Bhagvan say this - "under this master".

Then its a precious moment, isn't it, A Mahatma accepting that he is THAT. Wow!, though its humour at the outset, I see this as a rare occasion where Bhagavan said that HE is a MASTER. Though everyone knows it, He always used sidetrack any such  mention/discussion.Infact he is dead against any one saying so.Such is HIS greatness !!.

Dear swayam,

Once an overenthusiastic devotee who was sitting near Sri Bhagavan for lunch asked Him whether he could take a little
rice from His leaf, as a prasadam.  Sri Bhagavan silently agreed but added: Eat your food without ego. That would be
 the greatest prasadam!

Dear all,

Once, a day before Indian Independence, i.e 15.08.1947, in the Asramam, workers were arranging shamiana and serial lamps.
They were decorating the pathway to the Old Hall and Amma's Temple and Jubilee Hall. Suddenly, monkeys started playing over
the shamianas and disturbing the entire arrangement. The attendants were taking sticks and were driving out and beating even
some monkeys. Sri Bhagavan said: Why? Why? Is the Independence only for you? Do not the monkeys have also independence
from tomorrow? Do not beat them at least.

Arunachala Siva.
