I am drumming,
I am drumming,
I am drumming
for my Love's ever nearing union.
They say get a life.
What is all this drumming?
I swear to that Love,
the day that I stop drumming,
is the day that I will stop living.

Beyond what?
Beyond where?
Beyond when?
Beyond whom?
This beyond
Is not outside yourself,
But is the vast,
Limitless expanse
Within.
It is not knowable
Nor does it reside
Within the space of the known.
Stop running toward
Positive states.
Stop running from
Negative states.
Take whatever comes
As it comes;
Without judgment,
Without embellishment.
Then, watch it pass until
Whatever is to be
Next appears.

He who is known to those who forsake attachments,
He who is of plaited locks of hair in which river flows and baby moon grazes,
He who is verily sublime light and who dances in the Golden hall of Chidambaram
-lets worship his rosy anklet girt feet!

Lo, the God is dancing
- Shiva the all-destroyer and Lord of creation,
The Master of Yoga and the wielder of Pinaka. (Trident.)
His flaming locks have filled the sky,
Seven worlds play the rhythm
As the trembling earth sways almost to dissolution,
Lo, the Great God Shiva is dancing.

What shall i think of,
other than my Lord's Holy Feet?
Other than His feet that i
worship with joined palms,
I have no support;
there is nothing else i wish to see.
You made nine doors for my frame.
When the time comes for them to close,
i will lose the power to feel You.
Therefore,blessed Lord,
i only wish to reach Your feet,
O good Lord who dwells in Pumpukalur!

Don't run from a chalenge.
Instead run toward it
because only way to escape fear
is to trample it beneath your feet.

Is there no other way-there is Love
it never degenerates-peaceful softening
ever widening-the universe is too small
for its expansiveness.

Come and join us in our circle. We,the lovers,
we who admire,
so that we can lure you into
the lovely garden of desire.

You are water,whirling water,
yet still water trapped within.
Come,submerge yourself within us,
we who are the flowing stream.

Come,we are all so lost and strayed,
and in the direst poverty,
and we know of nothing to sing
except the song of unknowing.

You,the sudden resurrection,
You,the everlasting mercy,
You,who comes forth bringing fire
into the dry wood of my thoughts.
You,the chamberlain of the sun,
You,who merit every hope,
You,whom we seek,and you who seek,
You,the end and the begining.

What is copper,that,when the philosopher's stone arrives,
Its "copperness" should not be annihilated by gold's attribute?
What is tiny insignificant seed that,when Spring arrives,
It should not be annihilated for a tree to arrive?
All intellects and all sciences are only stars;
You are the Sun that burns all their veils away.
This world is snow and ice,and You are the fiery Summer;
No sign of anything remains when the King's signs flame out!
Who am I- tell me!-that i could exist a moment near You?
Just one of Your sidelong glances,My Beloved,destroys me.

Give up to grace.
The ocean takes care of each wave 'til it gets to shore.

I said to my heart:
"How,my heart,can you be so crazy
As to swerve from the service
Of the One you bless?"
My heart replied:
"It is you who are mad
To see me wrongly-
I am always in His service,
It is you that stray!"

Remember, now, the day of Thy blest birth,
How angels, quitting heaven, sang joyously:
"To God be power, glory, lasting worth;
And peace to men of good-will ever be!"
For nineteen hundred years Thy promise Thou hast kept;
Thy children in that peace have waked, and worked, and slept.

To taste forever here
Thy peace, divinely dear,
I seek Thee now.

Remember O Thou Babe in swaddling bands!
Beside Thy crib I would forever stay.
There, with Thine angels, Lord of all the lands!
I would remind thee of that happy day.
O Jesus! call to mind the shepherds and wise men,
Who offered Thee their hearts, as I mine own again;

The Babes of Bethlehem see,
Who gave their blood for Thee.
Remember Thou!

Remember Thou that Mary's holy arms
Thou didst prefer to any royal throne.
Dear little One! she shielded Thee from harm,
She fed Thee with her virginal milk alone.
Oh, at that feast of love Thy mother gave to Thee,
My little Brother, grant that I a guest may be,

Thy little sister I.
Oh, hear my ardent cry:
Remember Thou!

Ah! give me, Jesus! wings as white as snow,
That unto Thee I soon may take my flight.
I long to be where flowers unfading blow;
I long to see Thee, O my heart's Delight!
I long to fly to Mary's mother-arms, -
To rest upon that spotless throne of bliss;
And, sheltered there from troubles and alarms,
For the first time to feel her gentle kiss.

Ever, Thou Lily rare!
Bloom in my garden fair.
My life art Thou!
