Could anyone please tell me what the sanskrit symbol and scroll on the website http://www.sriramanamaharshi.org/teachings.html means.

Thanks for your message.

It is the symbol that appears on most books about Bhagavan and his teachings - it looks like sanskrit lettering in what appears to be a sun - I don't think its the Om or Aum symbel but it is similar.

Dear Jules,

Welcome to the Forum.

The Sanskrit symbol in Sri Ramanasramam and in most of their books is :

The Sanskrit letter Om is written within a blazing Sun,

Underneath is written: Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanya, the chanting mantra for invoking Sri Bhagavan's Grace.

Arunachala Siva.

Dear Subramanian.R,

Thank you for your reply - I wasn't sure if it was the Om symbol as it looks different from others I have seen. I also didn't realise that the lettering underneath was a chanting mantra - at least now I know what it means.

many thanks
