Thought is the only medium by which you get to know about your self. What is within, who you are, is exactly reflected by your thoughts. So therefore, thoughts are yourself, your own mirror, through which you get to know who you really are. Instead of treating thoughts as an enemy, see them as just post masters. Thoughts are letters sent to you by yourselves. Know who you are, what you really are. You may lie to others, but your thoughts cannot lie to you, your thoughts convey who you are as it is, it does not lie to you. We must be thankful to thoughts actually.

Know yourself properly, understand yourself properly through the mirror of your thoughts and blamming who we are on thoughts is ignorance. What did the poor thoughts do to you? It has just said about you as you are! Instead, recognise yourself and see how you can improve yourself.

It is mistake to blame our thoughts for our spirituality! The thoughts have no intentions to stop you from reaching Bhagavan or becomming realised.

When you are so pure, then thoughts will be as pure. Some where I have read -

How will it be when two mirrors are set face to face? what can you see in the mirror? what object will be visible in either of the mirror?

So, thought is your friend. You are your own friend, Krishna says in Gita - Uddharet-atmana-atmanam-Let him raise the self by the Self.

Recognise truth. Do not follow anything blindly.

Salutations to Bhagavan
॥ शांतमात्मनि तिष्ट ॥
Remain quietly in the Self.
