Today is Maha Deepam.
« on: December 08, 2011, 09:26:08 AM »
Arunacheswara will be in the form of light on the top of the sacred Arunachala around 6 PM today.

Today is special day,  the Grace is abundantly visisble,  very much feelable.

We devotees who cannot go to Thiruvannamalai will pray from our respective places,  around 6 PM  silently for getting liberation from desries and fears.

Arunaachalam Smaranaa Mukthi.

Any live telecast in any websites available?  I am happy if somebody can share that here.

Dear Krishnan,

Nice to see your post on Maha Deepam, the Light which Brahma (intellect) and Vishnu
(ego) could not fathom. The Light which became the Hill, so that this world could bear It.
The Hill in which, Siva is staying as Arunagiri Siddha.  The Hill in which all treasures are
available. (Sri Arunachala Maahaatmyam).

In one or two years, there was direct telecast in National Channel, DD 1. During another year,
I have also watched Kannada TV telecasting the Deepam, with Kannada commentary in Bangalore.
I do not have any idea about this year.

Arunachala Siva.

Dear Sir,

Today morning  Bharani deepam is lit it seems.

I woke up at 5:30 AM and played sama veda hymns from a complete CD set I had.

It ran for around 3 hours and then I concluded with our national (international ) anthem  -- akshara mana malai.

not TV Telecast,  Any foreign websites or any web -cam sites do this live relay in web?

Regards,
Krishna

Dear Krishnan,

I don't think any international TV or website is showing Maha Deepam. You have only to try
your luck with Tamizh or Kannada channels in India.  Jaya TV showed very surprisingly the
Soora Samharam recently from Tiruchendur. You may try Jaya TV also.

The Webcam in Graham Boyd's website showed the last photo of Maha Deepam at 6.16 PM IST.
I could see from Hongkong Airport at 8.46 PM HKT.  Arunachala has not forgotten me!

Dear All,

Just now i returned from MahaDeepam Celebrations in the hyd ramana kendram center.

Though i initially planned to visit tiru but  because of my infant son i could not go there.

Here the deepam proceedings went on very well and a free dinner was arranged.

I have taken my whole family including my mother/father and i felt so happy.

Dear prasanth,

Thank you  for more more information.  I back in India, after spending one  month in Hong Kong. I  could see the webcam
photograph of the Light at 8.46  PM Hong Kong Time from the  HK International Airport before getting into the flight.
I reached around 3.00 AM this morning.

Dear prasanth,

Thank you. The trip and stay was nice. Thank Ramana, we could cook our own meal. My wife and daughter prepared good
South Indian dishes. Otherwise it is a place where people eat crabs, frogs, snakes, pigs, bulls, cows and lambs and one
would hardly see a vegetarian hotel.  The parks, museums, buildings etc., are quite nice. We went from  HK to a nearby
Island  called Macau and spent a day there. It is a nice place though food was equally a problem. It is of Portugese architecture.
In both Hong Kong and Macau, people speak only Chinese  and there are very very few English speaking people who are there
in Air port, Ferry Port etc., But they are good mannered and helpful to the tourists and general public.

very nice to hear sir about your trip.

No-Veg Food items which u mentioned look scary not sure how they eat them.

If we recollect it is for the un-avilability of veg food srinivasa ramanujan suffered in UK during his visit.

Nice to see that people are well-mannered.

Dear prasanth,

I went to HK Central Library. Nice building, nice staff. But 99% books are Chinese. Some English books like Agatha Christie,
Rommain Rolland, Gullivers Travels were only available. I could also see some computer engineering books in English.
