Dear Jyoti,

Gods are created by humans in their imaginations.  Avataras appear on their own as manifestation of God or the Self to
vanquish the evil.  Why should God or the Self die when humans stop believing them?  Just because you close your eyes,
does the Sun disappear?

I do not mean if God (Brahman/Self) dies when people stop believing, I mean if the gods (devatas) die when people forgett them.
There are many cgods who do not receive any worship anymore, because the cultures they belonged too are death.
Do these "forms & names" still exist, or do forms and names vanish when nobody pays attention to them?

Dear Jyoti,

Since, as said in the beginning, gods are all imaginations, naturally they are forgotten when the people, I mean the civilization,
dies.  The famous Greek Gods are now only in the books.  But the principle behind which they are so formed or imagined, they
still exist.   e.g. Promethus represented fire, etc.,
