He seemed to agree that Jesus was jnani.

"For example, an ordinary Christian will not be satisfied unless he is told that God is somewhere in the far-off Heavens not to be reached by us unaided. Christ alone knew Him and Christ alone can guide us. Worship Christ and be saved. If told the simple truth - "The Kingdom of Heaven is within you" - he is not satisfied and will read complex and far-fetched meanings in such statements." - Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi

Here is an interesting article by David Godman: The Gospel of Thomas in the Light of Ramana Maharshi http://bhagavan-ramana.org/RamanaThomas.html

The gospel of Thomas is one of the gnostic gospels and is not found from the Bible. Scientists are not sure when it was written. Some say it was the earliest gospel, others that it was written in the second century.

Dear Ramana 1359,

What Sri Snow has written is correct. There is nothing more to add.
Sri Bhagavan never criticized any religion.

What Christ taught was pure advaita only.

Yes. He said, The Kingdom of God is within you.

He did not say that the kingdom of god is somewhere far away.

He also said the wise man's heart is on the right side.  Many people
did not understand this.
