Problems and Poojas at Arunachala
« on: August 29, 2011, 08:35:32 PM »
dear friends,
The Arunachala Mahatmyam talks about various poojas that can be done at Arunachala to avert or face any difficult situations in life.
Can this be applied to modern day living practically  and does someone have any additional information on this.
Also can someone plan a visit and perform some specific Pooja to get same specific objective in life -mostly to come out of some difficult situations or say for welfare of children etc.
If yes for the above , how does one go about it?

Dear Anand,

I am  not sure whether anyone is doing such pujas today in Tiruvannamalai.
Today the most liked practice of devotees is to go for giri pradakshina
and visit Arunachaleswara Temple. Of course, they spend most of the
time in Asramam seeing pujas and chanting parayana. Some stay in the
Old Hall for long hours and do meditation.  Some try to visit Skandasramam
and Virupaksha Cave to remember the days of Sri Bhagavan there.
All these are not compulsory and Asramam does not interfere with one's
preference to any one or none of these rituals.

Arunachala Siva.
