When one's own true nature is known, then there is being without beginning and end. It is unbroken awareness -- bliss.

Dear prasanth,

Yes. Very true. In the Asramam which I visited for three days from
15th June, I and my wife could meet one Swami Shananada Shiva Puri
Swamigal. He said a story:

One man thinks that he is a horse. He is going all over the places braying like a horse. He says he will eat only horsegram. Someone suggested to him to go to Temples and pray.  He went to 100 temples and in all the temples, he was braying and people threw him out. Some other person told him to try yoga. He tried. But for each inhaling breath and exhaling breath he was braying like a horse. Someone then suggested him to do some karma. He said that he can only draw a cart and do nothing else, since he imagined that he is a horse. Finally, he came to a Jnana Guru.  The Jnana Guru looked at him with graceful eyes and said:  See you are a man. You are a man. You are a man. You stay with me for some time and keep on saying I am a man, I am a man, I am a man.

The man who was imagining that he was a horse really became a man.

very nice to hear that you went to sacred ramana ashramam sir.

I think there is lot of construction work going on currently and there might be shortage of rooms?

Dear prasanth,

Yes. I had been to Tiruvannamalai for three days from 15th June 2011.
Since the entire Morvi Guest House is demolished and new rooms for 2 people, 3 people, 4 people etc., are being constructed. It might take some 6 months. Hence the Asramam had to manage with the existing Korangu Thottam guest house and Post Office Road guesthouse. I applied for approval for stay in June, sometime in April itself and I could get positive response.  The visit was quite satisfying. On day 1, I and my wife  spent the entire time in Asramam only.  On day 2, we had been to giri valam and afterwards spent the time in Asramam. Since it was the first day of Tamkizh month, Aani, [Jeshta], there was a Sri Chakra Puja for Mother temple's Meru. Ilayaraja had come to Asramam to take part in the pujas. On day 3, we spent time in Big Temple and had good darshan of Arunachaleswara and Apeeta Kuchambal. We bought some books in book stall. We started our return journey about 2 pm. and day 3, and reached Bangalore by 7 pm.

I bough the following books:

1.Spiritual Stories as told by Sri Bhagavan - a collection of all the stories told by Him during His conversations.
2. Direct Teaching of Sri Bhagavan Ramana - by V. Ganesan, a 1998 edition reprinted.
3. Separate book on the Recollections of Suri Nagamma. new edition.
4. Aruna of the Golden Fire - Sri Ramana's Linga,m of Wisdom and
Light. A book with a large number of photographs of Sri Bhagavan
    and Arunachala, by Michael Highburger.
5. Separate book of recollections of T.R. Kanakammal, new edition,
    under the title Cherished Memories.

"I AM That I AM," which implies the metaphysical dictum that the proof of existence is existence itself.

Dear prasanth,

The "I am" - ness or Existence is experiential and it cannot be
pointed out or objectified. Sri Muruganar calls it as suttarivu in
Tamizh, 'the knowledge obtained through someone pointing it out.'

But Existence cannot be pointed out. It is experiential and that is
the proof for one who has experienced.

Did I ever say that the world is there because of you? I have put to you the question, "What is there without Self?" You must know that by the Self, the body -- subtle or gross -- is not meant.

Dear prasanth,

Yes. In the deep sleep state, there is only seer and nothing is seen.  Sushupti example is given by Sri Bhagavan, many many times in Talks.

Turn the mind inward and search for the seer; you find that you are the seer and the objective world does not exist.

Dear prasanth,

What is Real is only the Self. All other things like
world, jiva and Iswara are unreal.  They are all
imaginations or incorrect perceptions or super
impositions like silver in the oyster shell.

One should turn one's attention to the Self within
to realize the Real, the Self.

Dear Subramaniyan ji,

There are no two "Self"s. Only one is ever present. But due to the ignorance "mind" takes birth from the same self. Due to mind karmas take place. By the grace of Guru and with the correct understanding, we come to know we are not mind. We are self, which is real.

Another thing, while we are reading scriptures, it is not necessary for inquiery because there would not mind's activities. I think, when we come to the world we should have the inqirey for not to fall in the hands of the "Mind". This is my poor understanding.

Dear Ramanaduli,

Your understanding is correct.  There is only one
Self. The mind for sometime, thinks it is the self,
and acts as per its whims and fancies. That is why
we see people telling:

I have understood
I have not understood.

Are there two selves within, one to understand, and another to not understand ?

There is only one Self. When the mind goes in conjunction with It., it understands.
When the mind does not go in conjunction with it, it does not understand.
That is all.

Arunachala Siva.
