Yes. Sleep or thookkam or thoonguvadhu is Sukam because there is no mind to do all the mischief.  But the mind is in temporaray animation, it may wake up, as soon as we wake up, and creates
many atrocities. But at the same time, one cannot be always in
sleep because the ego wants to rise its ugly head.

But there is a sleep of Jnanis.  Saint Tayumanavar says:
Thoongamal thoongi sukam peruvathu ekkalam?  "When I shall
have that sleep without sleep?  It is Turiyam.  The state of the
Jnanis.  It is called Jnana Vizhippu, the waking of Jnana, with
ego's death.
