Dear prasanth and others,
There are many presuppositions about Bhagavan Ramana's terminal
cancer:
1. He took upon the sins of His devotees;
2. He took upon the remaining vasanas of His Mother. One devotee
had a vision that from the left shoulder where there was sarcoma
wound, Mother's face appeared!
3. As said in the post, He took upon the sins of the devotees,
including His Mother. If He had sankalpa to cure Himself, He would
have done it in a second. But He had no ego, therefore no sankalpa.
4. He had perhaps decided that there should be some manner in
which He should leave the body. He has Himself said: "Who
will keep the leaf-plate from which one has completed eating?"
So, He decided to leave the body since His mission was over.
Arunachala Siva.
