The dirty room
« on: July 22, 2010, 12:02:31 PM »
When i came home, the whole floor was full of water
I cleaned the room and then went to sleep, but when i woke up in the morning i saw that it was full of water again.
I cleaned it again, and once again in the evening I found it dirty !

This went on, until one fine day i found my Guru. My guru said, "First close the leaks"
I asked him "Sir, but where is the leak ?"
He replied : "You! You are the leak"
I asked "Sir, how to clean?"
He smiled and said "Who are you ? Who is asking?"
I did not understand what he meant... i tried it, but nothing worked!

I asked him "Sir, what should i do ? ask myself who am i?"
He said "No"

Look within, to find that "I"!
and Lo! I Looked within, found none ... the room is clean...and there is none within!

Dear srkudai,

The leak is the manam, the mind or the ego.  It has got 5 holes,
five senses.

If the mind becomes pure, then the body is the temple.  The room
is the temple.  Saint Tirumoolar says:

This mind is a big sanctum sanctorum.  This body made of flesh
and bones - is the Temple.

All the five senses are the five ever glowing lamps!

Whatever I eat is the abhishekam with nectarine milk, for the Siva  [Pure Mind] within me!

Arunachala Siva.
