THEORY/ PRACTICE OF SPIRITUALITY
« on: August 23, 2008, 05:07:33 AM »
 DEAR FORUM MEMBERS

:o THEORY/ PRACTICE OF SPIRITUALITY.

ANY AMOUNT OF THEORITICAL KNOWLEDGE WILL CERTAINLY NOT LEAD US TO THE REALITY, UNTIL UNLESS WE STRIVE FOR IT.

BHAGVAN ALSO CAME WITH NOTHING HE GAINED EVERYTHING PRACTICALLY FIRST. THEN HE QOUTED FROM THE BOOKS LATER ACCORDING TO THE LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING OF INDIVIDUAL.

TEACHING MUST SIMPLE, HUMBLE EASILY UNDERSTOOD BY ALL WITH CLARITY.

TOPIC SHOULD BE SMALL, CRISP, CLEAR, EASILY UNDERSTANDABLE WITHOUT ANY DOUBT.

JUMBLES, ONE DOUBT CREATING ANOTHER DOUBT, AND LENTHY TOPICS WILL GIVE BOREDOM.

THIS IS HUMBLE OPINION.

ALL CAN POST YOUR OPINIONS AND CRITICISM.

Dear Sankar & Raju, as you have said, books will help us only
to some extent.  Then, you may ask, "Why are your writing about
so many books?"  When Sankara and Bhagavan wrote so many
books, it is only to leave the seekers, to choose one that they
find it more appealing and understandable.  That is all.  Sankara
did not stop with Viveka Choodamani and Bhagavan did not stop
with Who am I?.  The idea was to give many books appealing to
different people.  Bhagavan did not write or know anything
for Self Realization.  His case is unique because He was an
avatara of Skanda, who explained the significance of Pranava
to Siva himself.  David Godman says, He was like a star suddenly
appearing from top of the hill, and came down to the foothill
to tell others about His experience!   We are all on the reverse.
We try hard to climb from downhill to the top of the hill.

Arunachala Siva.

Dear sir, I am not capable of advising as I am a bhagwans child  in the journey like all other members.

It is only my practical opinion. My point is put everything into practice with the known theory. and clear the doubts through this forum to move forward towards reality, that is retracting to reality from the present position.

Dear Sankar, I have no quarrel and I agree with you.  Practice
should go on, to obtain the fruits of the scriptural books.  A
gram of practice is worth more than a tonne of reading and
theory.
