Bhagavan Ramana's 60th Aradhana - 11.05.2010
« on: May 14, 2010, 09:33:02 AM »

After my visit to Sri Ramanasramam, on 19th to 21st April 2010,
there was no serious efforts to again have darshan for Bhagavan
Ramana's 60th Aradhana on 11th May 2010.  Nevertheless the
'desire' was growing as the day approached and Bhagavan Ramana's
Will had made it possible.

I and my wife left for Tiruvannamalai on 10th May, early morning.
We reached T'malai by 10.00 am.  Kannan, the new asst. to
Dr. Srinivasamurthy, was kind enough to allot a room in Morvi
Guest House, M-24.  We just placed the luggage and rushed back
to the Asramam.  The power cut was in force in that area between
9 am and 12 noon.  The heat waves made you to sweat like anything.
The Asramam was the safe haven and one has to witness the previous day's functions also.

We went to Matrubhuteswara Temple first and after praying to
Mother, Sri Dakshinamurty and Nataraja, we went to Sri Ramaneswara Mahalingam.  The morning special puja had commenced from 9 am.  The abulations and adornment were elaborate for Mahalingam.  We could witness with all joy, the
abhishekam with water, coconut water, sandal paste water,
milk, vibhuti and other herbals.  The adornment then started.
The young Vedapatasala boys were chanting from Upanishads
and gayatri mantras for all gods.  The Mahalingam was neatly
cleaned up, then there were silk dhotis and flower arrangements.
They had placed the golden gasket (Punarvasu vannam) and additionally they had also placed a silver head gear.  There was
special chanting of Sri Arunachala Stuti Panchakam also.   The artri was shown around 10.50 am.  The devotees' crowd was quite large.

They had made excellent arrangements to regulate the crowd
for lunch.  It was a special lunch, and the batches started from
11 am.  There were about 600 to 700 devotees who had taken the

It was 12 noon.  It was safe to go back to guest house since power
supply had been resumed.

We went for a brief rest with fan blowing hot hot air.  Still the thoughts about Bhagavan Ramana made us to feel the heat less.

Arunachala Siva.
