Verse 54 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:



சோதி யாதெனைத் தொண்டருட் கூட்டியே
போதி யாதவெல் லாமௌப் போதிக்க
ஆதி காலத்தி லுன்னடிக் காந்தவம்
ஏது நான்முயன் றேன்முக்கண் எந்தையே. 54.

Without examining my fitness,
Thou took me into the fold
Of Thine devotees
And taught me slowly
All things as yet untaught.
To merit all this
What tapas did I perform at your Feet
In lives past?
Oh! My Father of triple eyes!

Verse 55 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:



எந்த நாளைக்கும் ஈன்றருள் தாயென
வந்த சீரருள் வாழ்கஎன் றுன்னுவேன்
சிந்தை நோக்கந் தெரிந்து குறிப்பெலாந்
தந்து காக்குந் தயாமுக்கண் ஆதியே. 55.



Ever will I think of Thee
As the compassionate Mother
That gave me birth.
Ever will I hail Thy Grace
That came so.
Thou, the Being First of eyes triple,
So compassionate,
That grants my wishes and protects me,
Knowing my mind and intentions!

Verse 56 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:


கண்ண கன்றஇக காசினியூடெங்கும்
பெண்ணொ டாண்முத லாமென் பிறவியை
எண்ண வோஅரி தேழை கதிபெறும்
வண்ண முக்கண் மணிவந்து காக்குமே. 56.


In this earth of dimensions large,
Countless are the births I had
As male and as female.
Will my Precious One of triple eyes
Ever come to redeem this helpless one?

Verse 58 of Ponnai Madahrai  - Tayumanavar:

ஆனந் தங்கதி என்னவென் னானந்த
மோனஞ் சொன்ன முறைபெற முக்கண்எங்
கோனிங் கீந்த குறிப்பத னால்வெறுந்
தீனன் செய்கை திருவருட் செய்கையே. 58.

Except the revelation of Thy Grace
There is no way out for me.
It is Thy burden
To remove the distress of my heart.
Thou, the Treasure of loved devotees.
Thou, that is Bliss Embodied
And of eyes triple!

Verse 59 of Ponnai Madharai:  Tayumanavar:

கையி னால்தொழு தேத்திக் கசிந்துளம்
மெய்யி னாலுனைக் காண விரும்பினேன்
ஐய னேஅர சேஅரு ளேயருள்
தைய லோர்புறம் வாழ்சக நாதனே. 59.

With hands raised in adoration,
With heart melting in love,
I sought to see Thee in this body.
My Lord! My King! My Grace!
Thou, the Lord of universes vast
That carries the Lady of Grace as your half!

Verse 60 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:


சகத்தின் வாழ்வைச் சதமென எண்ணியே
மிகுத்த தீமை விளைய விளைக்கின்றேன்
அகத்து ளாரமு தாமைய நின்முத்திச்
சுகத்தில் நான் வந்து தோய்வதெக் காலமோ. 60.


Thinking that life on earth is permanent
I am doing harm incalculable.
My Lord, who is the ambrosia within!
When am I to merge in the Bliss of Thine Mukti?

Verse 61 of Ponnai Matharai:  Tayumanavar:


கால மூன்றுங் கடந்தொளி ராநின்ற
சீல மேநின் திருவரு ளாலிந்த்ர
சால மாமிச் சகமென எண்ணிநின்
கோல நாடுத லென்று கொடியனே. 61.


Thinking that life on earth is permanent

கொடிய வெவ்வினைக் கூற்தைத் துரந்திடும்
அடிக ளாம்பொரு ளேருனக் கன்பின்றிப்
படியி லேழைமை பற்றுகின் றேன்வெறும்
மிடியி னேன்கதி மேவும் விதியின்றே. 62.


Thou, the Being blessed
That chases away
The ferocious God of Death!
Devoid of love of Thee,
I am stricken by destitution here below.
So poor in spirit,
I see no way of redemption.

Verse 63 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:


விதியை யும்விதித் தென்னை விதித்திட்ட
மதியை யும்விதித் தம்மதி மாயையில்
பதிய வைத்த பசுபதி நின்னருள்
கதியை எப்படிக் கண்டு களிப்பதே. 63.


Like the light within
For the eye to see,
With me have you been
In the past,
And now as awareness.
Oh! Almighty Lord!
A thousand, thousand salutations to Thee!
Pray, dispel the darkness of my soul!

Verse 65 of Ponnai Matharai:  Tayumanavar:


கண்ட கண்ணுக்குக் காட்டுங் கதிரெனப்
பண்டும் இன்றுமென் பால்நின் றுணர்த்திடும்
அண்ட னேயுனக் கோர்பதி னாயிரந்
தெண்டன் என்பொய்ம்மை தீர்த்திடல் வேண்டுமே. 64.


Thou decreed my fate.
And Thou decreed my will
That made that fate
And made that will
Sink in Maya.
Oh! Pasu-Pati,
Who made all this
How shall I rejoice
In the working of Thy Grace?

Verse 66 of Ponnai Matharai - Tayumanavar:

வேண்டும் யாவும் இறந்து வெளியிடைத்
தூண்டு வாரற்ற சோதிப் பிரான்நின்பால்
பூண்ட அன்பர்தம் பொற்பணி வாய்க்குமேல்
ஈண்டு சன்மம் எடுப்பன் அனந்தமே. 65.


Thou, the Unkindled Light Divine
That shined in space,
Transcending all that is sought for!
If it is given to me
The golden duty of serving those devoted to Thee,
Well may I take
Countless births here below.

Verse 66 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanvar:



எடுத்த தேகம் இறக்குமு னேஎனைக்
கொடுத்து நின்னையுங் கூடவுங் காண்பனோ
அடுத்த பேரறி வாயறி யாமையைக்
கெடுத்த இன்பக் கிளர்மணிக் குன்றமே. 66.


Will I, ere this body perishes,
Give myself and unite in Thee?
Thou, the Knowledge Great that I sought!
The gem studded Mountain of Bliss
That destroys ignorance!

Verse 67 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:



குன்றி டாத கொழுஞ்சுட ரேமணி
மன்று ளாடிய மாணிக்க மேயுனை
அன்றி யார்துணை யாருற வார்கதி
என்று நீயெனக் கின்னருள் செய்வதே. 67.


Thou, Blazing Flame that doth not flicker!
Thou, the Ruby that danced in the gem studded arena!
Who else, but Thee, is my support,
My Friend, my Refuge?
When is it that Thou wilt grant Thy Grace to me?

Verse 68 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:


அருளெ லாந்திரண் டோர்வடி வாகிய
பொருளெ லாம்வல்ல பொற்பொது நாதஎன்
மருளெ லாங்கெடுத் தேயுளம் மன்னலால்
இருளெ லாம்இரிந் தெங்கொளித் திட்டதே. 68.


Thou, the Being
That is embodiment of Grace entire.
Thou, the Lord of golden arena
That is powerful-all!
As my mind centers on Thee,
All doubts destroyed,
Where did my darkness flee and hide itself?

Verse 69 of Ponnai Madharai - Tayumanavar:


எங்கு மென்னை இகலுற வாட்டியே
பங்கஞ் செய்த பழவினை பற்றற்றால்
அங்க ணாவுன் னடியிணை யன்றியே
தங்க வேறிட முண்டோ சகத்திலே. 69.

When the karma of past
That hard harassed me ever,
Ceases to have hold on me,
Thou, Lord,
Have I in this or any other place of refuge
But Thine Twin Feet?
