Major Chadwick's Day - 17.04.2010 (2)
« on: April 12, 2010, 10:03:34 AM »
Major Chadwick came from South America.  He never went back to his home country.
He is famous for many things in Sri Ramanasramam.

He only started and took complete care of Veda Patasala. While
he was one day, meditating when Veda Parayana was going on
in the Old Hall, he became filled with raptures and he decided that
the Asramam should have a Veda Patasala.  He arranged for
one with Bhagavan's permission, fixed the priests in consultation
with the office and started the school.  The boys were few in numbers
but it swelled as the time passed on.

He was also responsible for arranging Sri Vidya Homam in the
Asramam.  The Homam is continued even today and is conducted
once in every month.

He used to have an image of Sri Dakshinamurty in his cottage
and he was meditating on that image during his free hours.
He considered Bhagavan Ramana as the manifestation of Sri
Dakshinamurty.

Devotees used to endearingly call him as Sattvic and not Chadwick.

He merged with Bhagavan in his bed at Vellore hospital in 1962.

He is one of the few persons who did not leave Tiruvannamalai
but continued inside the Asramam, ever bathing in the bliss of
His Presence.

Arunachala Siva.
