Sri Devi Kaalottaram - 5

Sri Devi Kaalottaram, Verses 22 and 23:-

Niraalambamidam sarvam niraalamba prakaasitam |
Niraalambamidam kritvaa niraalambo bhavishyati ||

Vyomaakaram mahaasoonyam vyaapakam ya na bhaavayet |
Samsaaree sa bhavelloke beejakosakrimiryatha ||

The entire universe is nothing but the Niraalamba (the Reality
which exists without any support.)  (Alambam means the support.
Sri Sankara says in Sri Subrahmanya Bhujangam and Sri Lakshmi
Narasmiha Stotram:  Mama dhehi kara-valambam.  Please give
me the support of your hands.)  Further, it shines being illumined
by the Niraalamba.  The yogi (with his mind turned inward) merges
with this whole one with it by making every object in this world
one with it.  Know this.

If any person does not meditate on this all-pervading Void,
which is the Space of Consciousness (Chidakasa), he will
be a samsari ( a wordly attached individual)  for ever in
bondage to worldly attachments, like the silk-worm in itself-
made cocoon.  Understand this.

Bhagavan Ramana has said that "the mind like a spider pulling
from its body a thread to make a web, creates from it the world
and the objects."  Those who do not contemplate within the
Void or the Space in the Heart, their mind will jump out to create
the world and its objects like a spider.  (Who am I?)

He again says in Who am I? "When the mind gets the object
it wants or when it knows that the object that is hated by it,
the mind gets 'temporary' fulfillment by coming back into the
Atma Swarupam within.  This is the experience of the ignorant.
Whereas, the Jnani does not bring out his mind from Atma at all.
He is always in the shade.  The ignorant (ajnani) goes out to the
hot sun and not being able to bear the heat comes back to the shade.  And again goes to the hot sun and suffers and comes back."

Arunachala Siva.
