Jesus and Nicodemus

(John 3.1-8)

There was a man named Nicodemus who was a Pharisee and a
Jewish leader.  One night he went to Jesus and said:  "Sir, we
know that God has sent you to teach us.  You could not work
these miracles, unless God were with you."

Jesus replied:  "I tell you for certin that you must be born from
above, before you see God's kingdom!"

Nicodemus asked:  "How can a grown man ever be born a second

Jesus answered:

"I tell you for certain that before you can get into God's kingdom,
you must be born not only by water, but by the Spirit.  Humans
give life to their children.  Yet only God's Spirit can change you
into a child of God.  Don't be surprised when I say that you must
be born from above.  Only God's Spirit gives new life.  The Spirit
is like the wind that blows wherever it wants to.  You can hear the
wind, but you don't know where it comes from or where it is going."

1 CORINTHIANS 9. 19-23

"I am not any one's salve.  But I have become a slave to everyone, so that I can win as many people as possible.  When I am with
Jews, I live like a Jew to win Jews.  They are ruled by Law of Moses, and I am not.  But I live by the Law to win them.  And when I am with people who are not ruled by the Law, I forget the Law to win them.  Of course, I never really forget about the Law of God.
In fact, I am ruled by the Law of Christ.  When I am with people, whose faith is weak, I live as they do to win them.  I do everything I can to win everyone I possibly can.  I do all this good news because I want to share its blessings.

God chooses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.  God
fills the weak and meek vessels with his will, to fullfil his purpose on earth.  In fact, the meek shall inherit the earth.
