Does any body know what is kundalini and what is its function vis-a-vis Self-realization ?
O Divine, lead me to dizzy heights of sublimity & loftiness

Dear soham3,

My knowledge is quite elementary.  By control of breath, one
is able to raise the fire-power from Mooladhara, the first
centre slowly to the Sahasrara, the last centre, via, Manipuraka,
Swadhishtana, Anahata, Ajna and Vishuddhi and the breath
so far controlled, one day, breaks open the centre of the skull
and merges with Brahman.

As Bhagavan Ramana said, mind and breath are the two branches
of the same substance.  By breath control, one can control the
mind.  According to Bhagavan Ramana, it does not however
ensure quiscence of mind, since when the breath is again left
out, the mind wags its tail.

This Raja Yoga needs a lot of efforts.  Any mistake would cause
danger to the body and lungs within.  One should go to a proper
Yoga teacher.  Sri Lalita Sahasranamam and Arthur Avlon's
books describe these techniques in detail.

I have not tried this.  Being an anxious person, right from the
young age, even my normal breathing is hyper-ventillation.
How to control it?  No chance.  Self enquiry does not need any

Arunachala Siva.

Yes yes. Bhagavan Ramana expressed beautifully by stating that one needs just rest on the train which will carry everything.
