Atma Darsanam and Viswarupa Darsanam
« on: August 20, 2009, 12:34:43 PM »
When Krishna was born in the jail, he showed his original form
with four arms, disc and conchshell for a second.  Then he became
the child.  Vasudeva, his father did not see him as a child. He
says: "The moment I saw you, my mind got curled up into Heart.
I see only your Adyatma Swarupa."  Devaki also says:  "How
can I see you as a child of mine?  You are going to live in some
other place across Yamuna.  I am however, happy in seeing you
as my Atma.  You are only Atma Darsanam."

Krishna later told Arjuna the same thing when he was telling
him Bhagavad Gita.  After Viswarupa Darsanam, he said:
"Arjuna!  You have seen my Cosmic Form.  Now go beyond that
see the Dhrushta of this Cosmic Form, the Seer of this Cosmic form
-- Your Heart within."

Atma Vichara is easy.  Of course, Guru's grace is a must.
Vidyaranya says:  "If you cannot do Atma Vichara, go and work
as an agricultural labourer.  Atleast you shall earn some money."

Perhaps today we can say: "If you cannot do Atma Vichara, go
and learn computer programming or biotechnology.  You can
at least go to San Jose and earn some good money!"

Bhagavan Ramana says in Atma Vidya Keerthanam: Oh, this
is very easy, this Atma Vidya.  But it is easy only when you
are first able to conquer your mind and go past dyads and triads.
Guru's abundant Grace is definitely essential to succeed.
